This just in. Reports are coming out of Vancouver that Roberto Luongo attempted to commit suicide last night, by jumping in front of a moving train. The attempt failed as the train was able to pass through his legs. :P
Re: Allied Forces at War with Libyan Regime
That is what he says, but he is the one in violation. I don't believe it reads as limited scope. That can lead to dangerous foreign pursuits. It was originally written to keep Nixon from bombing Laos and Cambodia during Vietnam.
I think if Vancouver can get the puck in deep and forecheck they will win. If they try and be cute with the puck and overplay it, Boston will win. They might try and do the latter because Tim Thomas is in their heads. They need to simplify the offense. The area behind the net has been open, not...
Re: Allied Forces at War with Libyan Regime
Very good point. I am no fan of Mumar Khaddaffi and don't think anybody will miss him. I would just like to here some strategies and goals, and have the military action be legal.
I liked what the Sedins were doing in game 6. Instead of passing the puck across, between the dots to no one, they were playing the puck from behind the net, and were getting better scoring chances. I think it's going to be a low scoring game.
I feel in the opening minutes, it could have gone Vancouver's way. Shame the puck bounced over Henrik Sedin's stick. Yeah, Luongo was real bad. Vigneault did not use his time out after the second goal came :35 after the first. He could have stemmed the tide and gotten his team to settle down. I...
Re: Allied Forces at War with Libyan Regime
Three weeks late. Atta boy John. I wonder what they talked about while they were playing golf, LOL?
My question is what the goal of the mission is. What is the exit strategy? Does international involvement go on indefinitely? The war has gone to a...
That was an ugly 4:14 of the first. I don't know why Allain Vinguealt did not call a time out after the second goal. I still think Vancouver will pull it off. NBC cut to the street that is by Rogers Arena. There were thousands and thousands of Canuck fans. They were dead silent. Game 7 is going...
Re: Allied Forces at War with Libyan Regime
George W Bush had to finish his Daddy's war. Period. It was'nt about oil , making Haliburton rich, or WMD's. It was a complete waste of lives, time, money and the credibility of this country.
Re: Allied Forces at War with Libyan Regime
Yes I said the same thing about Bush. There was no legitimate reason for an invasion of Iraq. Saddam Hussein was contained and was weaker than the intelligence estimate. The only reason there should be military intervention is if there is an imminent...
Re: Allied Forces at War with Libyan Regime
Does'nt matter if the President decides to put boots on the ground or not. He is constitutionally bound to get congressional approval on any military action, which he has'nt. President Obama is either lazy or arrogant, and I don't think you get to be...
Kariya got rid of the puck later than Horton did. That was the question I had when I decided to look at some of Steven's hits, was how long after the player dished the puck, that Stevens nailed him. Since that was the reason for such a huge blowback against Rome by the league. I did'nt compare...
Re: Allied Forces at War with Libyan Regime
There are reports that Obama is stepping up action in Yemen too. Nice going for a Nobel Peace Prize recipient.
John Boehner needs to put down his kleenex, put on his big boy pants, and keep the President in check. I bet Obama will have missions...
I understand the league's stance on concussions, but four games is excessive. If it were a hit from behind or a excessively late hit, I could understand. Ii feel they are going to crackdown on any borderline hit like the Rome hit and are going to take the toughness away from the game. The game...
Rome left his feet as a follow through. You are taught to coil your body and get as much of it as you can under you when you deliver a hit.
Rome made contact 1 second after Horton passed the puck. I watched some of Steven's old hits as a comparison and while the majority of his hits were...
8-1 thrashing by the Bruins. Ouch. On another note, what are the opinions on the Aaron Rome hit on Nathan Horton? I had a heated debate with my wife last night and I said while it was an unfortunate hard hit on Horton, the only thing questionable was that it may have been a second or two late...
