Bearing in mind I know very little about this, it seems to me that Bruce has been hitting the highest notes with more ease post-cancer, but at the expense of how clean the sound is, hence some of the Abe Simpson comparisons. For some songs it sounds better, others less so. I'd take the LotB...

As would Nicko's absent bass drum... Joking of course, I am biased in that regard (as a drummer), and yes, that aside, most of Maiden's 80's albums do sound great.

It feels very wrong to me that these pairings have made me vote against brilliance like the Talisman, and in fact give TFF a vicious drubbing overall.

Sounds awesome a lot of the time to be honest. Dream Theater - Home - Live Scenes from New York ("Let's have some fun with this one"). I promise I do like other bands, its just the new album has really made me remember why they're second only to Maiden for me.
