    Starblind

Listening to Starblind again, it strikes me as the (much) better version of Ghost of the Navigator from BNW. It's as if GOTN was the first draft and Starblind was the finished product. Needless to say, I think Starblind exceeds GOTN by a magnitude of a thousand.

    Black Sabbath

I agree on Tyr and Headless Cross - I think Tyr is criminally overlooked (in that it should a punishable offence to have overlooked how awesome it is). Carrying on with some of the earlier fun on Black Sabbath, I wanted to take a crack at this: Alright, I'll try. Favourite album with Ozzy...

    Jupz's Top 50!

Agree 100%, especially on the chorus bit. This song gets lost imho with all of the other brilliance on AMOLAD (and yes, I'm one of those who thinks Out of the Shadows is way higher than 101st), but I think is one of the best things Maiden has done since the reunion. Accessible for all but...

    Other's Maiden Blasphemy?

Probably the favorite I've heard was around the 80s, when Maiden was called just another hair metal band by people not in the know (i.e. most of the other people at my high school). They'd say things like, "oh, i don't like heavy metal... bands like Poison, Bon Jovi, Iron Maiden... they're not...

    Jupz's Top 50!

Hahahahahahahaha, excellent! I think there are better things in the Maiden canon. That's it. I wouldn't place much of the album as high as many others would here, that's all. So back to my burning. Bravo Eddies Wingman - you get a praise for making me spit out my water :)

    Jupz's Top 50!

This is a great idea, and I love that this is turning into Blasphemy No. 2  I really like the write-ups and appreciate it, once again it shows the diversity amongst Maiden fans and especially this forum. That being said, how can Dance of Death be 50 when Fear of the Dark is, by your own...

For the Greater Good of God

Hahaha, it's kind of what I do around here. I just think that the repetitive chorus and overall tone of the song is more suited to BNW than to the rest of AMOLAD. Perhaps not as repetitive as songs such as Dream of Mirros (which I love, btw), but still one that I think would fit in well on BNW.

    Song vs Song

Master of Puppets. Best song they've ever done and a high-water mark for metal in the 1980s (well, US Bay Area metal). At the Gallow's End (Candlemass) v. Years of Decay (Overkill). Random, I know...

Recent additions to your music collection

Hey Jupz, wanted to expand on the Falconer albums, I couldn't figure out who they reminded me of but today it hit me - they're like a male version of Nightwish (with Tarja, not the new one). Very similar in terms of their power/symphonic approach, very melody driven, with dashes of Tull and...

Random Song: Judas Priest - Blood Red Skies

Nice, RID is one of my favs too - I always knew Priest but it was Ram It Down that really broke through my consciousness when I was starting to become a full-fledged metalhead. Used to listen to it before games (volleyball player, so it made sense) to psyche myself up.

Random Song: Black Sabbath - Falling Off the Edge of the World

Agree 100% - this is one of their best albums, Sign of the Southern Cross is fabulous, Falling off the Edge is wonderful too. This is the doom that doom metal aspires to be (and only a select few, like Candlemass and DoomSword, actually achieve).

Random Song: Judas Priest - Blood Red Skies

Pretty good tune, kind of catchy. I like the title track from Ram It Down much better (best straight ahead rocker Priest did, IMO), but I think this track is more than solid. Haven't heard it in ages, though, must go listen to it now.
