Finished the record now and I really liked ‘As god is my witness’, ‘Escape from reality’ and ‘The Lodger’. Some tracks (Sons of thunder) totally generic and forgettable. Overall it’s a good album , 8/10 territory, but it’s not album of the year.

As an aside I just watched this video of Blaze playing Man on The Edge in 2023 on a cruise in…maybe Norway? I can’t tell the language. Anyway it’s interesting as it has a female backing singer and a keyboard player and the keyboard player takes the solo. Actually works really nicely.

Didn’t you just politely suggest that prog elements were visible in early Maiden and she just exploded at you? That was when I was done with her. She was a hypocrite not interested in conversation and debate, just acquiescence to her views.

The entire album is exquisite but a Day in the Life is just next level.
