The band pretending that the Ripper era didn’t exist really tarnishes their reputation. It’s just ugly and mean spirited. They don’t have to play the songs but at least acknowledge the records exist. It kept the band alive whilst Rob was busy indulging himself and not giving a fuck.

Most of KK’s complaints (management of the band) are the exact same ones Rob had and talked about during his 12 years out of the band. But nobody criticises Rob for it.
He does interviews and he’s asked the same old questions and he answers them and it becomes a click bait headline for people...
I agree there, I think both bands have hinted at a more 70’s / proggier style (or more complex song structures) and neither have really delivered on that.
I think that’s the point as a founding member of Judas Priest. Full of duelling guitars and twin harmonies, it’s a whole load of fun.

After a few more listens I think my only real issue with the album is the production. The ‘Sneap’ sound comes across as initially powerful and red blooded but is ultimately very generic and leads to everything sounding the same. That combined with the ubiquitousness of Faulkner’s playing style...
