    Death Of The Celts

It's best heard on Death of the Celts, 7:23 onwards, left channel especially (where Dave's solo guitar appears), headphones recommended On Still Life it's very faint, and may be dependent on the release, but this is from Senjutsu CD

    Death Of The Celts

They also mention Still Life, I took a listen (Spotify, 2015 remaster) and sure it's there, around 3:20 when the solo starts  Is it the remaster's fault, or was it there from the start?

    Hell On Earth

It's a quite big album to take in all at once, so this morning I only listened once carefully to HOE. Now I can't get this damn melody from my head, it's been there the whole day, I'm talking about the verse melody when Bruce starts singing. It's so bitter and sweet, tragic and hopeful at once...

    Piece of Mind: Album Discussion

I always wondered why Maiden fans in particular focus that much on weaker songs, saying that they drag the album down. I mean, there's always a skip button, and an album with 7 GREAT songs is incredibly rare anyway

Please post reviews and thoughts on Senjutsu here

I thought he suddenly woke up on TBOS. There's some great bass playing, for instance on title track. It was really unremarkable a few albums before that.

    Unfavorable Iron Maiden album reviews

Maybe it was kinda fashionable to put down this band in those times? I don't really recall

    Senjutsu

For me, this is head and shoulders above the rest of the album. It's original, it's fresh, doesn't recycle, and it's immense. They have always been good at "bombastic" without being over the top pompous. This is a good example. Unlike some opinions, I think the chorus fits the song like a...

    Senjutsu - 3rd September 2021

Maybe the Time Machine explains all the other songs on this album, Mr Just-a-man revisits critical historical moments and personages, like defending the great wall, Napoleon, Churchill, Babylon, Celts, Indians, Pakrement is also evidently about some war, etc.

    The Writing On The Wall

TWOTW kicks major ass, and its placement on the album accentuates this in the best fashion possible Sounds very energetic after Senjutsu and Stratego, just an injection of positive energy

    Lost In A Lost World

You know what, there's a LOT of this on this album, in fact so much that after a few listens it completely stopped bothering me, I guess my brain started to filter the guitar out, I'm not hearing it any more o_O

    Lost In A Lost World

I'm with SMX on this one Also, it flows very well in the context of the album. After the tremendous energy buildup created by S, S and TWOTW, the intro offers a bit of a break and then continues the energetic flow. The verse and chorus rhythm evoke Native American tribal dances (kudos to Nicko...

    Darkest Hour

Sounds pretty run-of-the mill to me :S The only interesting part are the the kick ass solos Doesn't even resemble the wonderful Gates of Urizen ("...from the void, a crimson fortress rises", serious goosebumps - where's that in DH?)

Things about Iron Maiden that annoy you

Things about Iron Maiden that annoy you

There's a moment of tritone in SIASL riff (Bb over E) and in Starblind (F# over C), off the top of my head
