The Sign of the Cross is my favourite song but The Wicker Man is the best opener.
I have always had a soft spot for Wildest Dreams, Different World and The Final Frontier. They are not the greatest songs, but they are great openers.
I am supremely jealous that you are just casually chatting about Maiden’s epics in the clip! What a topic to talk about. I wild have gone on a long spiel about Sign of the Cross.
I was listening to this album today. Here is my ranking
Stranger in a Strange Land
Caught Somewhere in Time
Alexander the Great
Deja Vu
Sea of Madness
Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner
Wasted Years
Heaven Can Wait
Bands change and so does their sound. Personally I do not miss the guitar harmonies that much. I internally roll my eyes every time I hear a metal band do a song with a unison guitar melody for four bars and then four bars in harmony. It so cliched at this point. It’s almost as annoying as...
This comment reminds me of the best ‘heckle’ I ever heard at a gig. It was during Bruce Springsteen in Hyde Park 2009. There were two Americans behind me. One shouted ‘Woooo music!’ The other then shouted ‘Wooooo concert!’ I still chuckle to this day thinking about it.
I heard Eddfest being advertised on Planet Rock today. I can’t recall hearing a Maiden tour being advertised on there before, as the UK shows generally sell out quite quick.
Poor ticket sales?
I went to the cinema for a morning showing of a Bluey film with my daughter. Baring in mind it’s the Easter holidays, the cinema was empty. It was just two of us. People are just not going to the cinema as much as they used to. I would say 20 people for a documentary about a band is pretty good.
I was furious today with some random bloke in a car park. I got out the the car with my wife, daughter and mum (dad went off to park the car). As we were getting out, this guy came up too close behind us. I thanked him and moved for the side which was an empty car parking space. He then...
I don’t have anything against her or her friends. They seem pleasant enough. I think I am just bored of the current timeline we are on where people with the energy and time to set up a YouTube channel are held as authority figures on a subject.
Bedford is easy to get to from London. You could fly into Luton Airport and get the train. There is a lovely hotel on the river near the venue as well. It’s a Premier Inn (nationwide chain) and you can get a room for fairly cheap.
If you fly into Gatwick airport, there is a direct train from...
