Correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think the reviewer in the Loud Wire article mentioned any of the following words:
repetition, repetitive, repeated and if he did it wasn't next the word "chorus."
This is the definitive list:
1) Piece of Mind
2) Powerslave
3) Seventh Son of a Seventh Son
4) The Number of the Beast
5) Killers
6) Iron Maiden
7) Somewhere in Time
8) Brave New World
9) Book of Souls
10) The Final Frontier
11) Dance of Death
12) A Matter of Life and Death
13) Fear of the Dark...
Thanks, I always thought vinyl was fine into the early 20-minute range, mostly because I remember Martin Birch implying there were issues with Powerslave and LAD have 25 minutes+ per side.
Good description of vinyl lengths here...
Anyone know why they have to slip this across 3 records and 6 sides of vinyl? It could easily be a double album with sides lasting 19:32, 20:33, 17:40 and 23:58
Don't they realize getting up to flip the vinyl is hard on the old-timer's knees?
I like that it both sounds completely different than anything they have done before while still sounding like literally dozens of other Maiden songs--many identified on this thread, I will add that I find the intro is very similar to The Red and the Black except on guitar instead of bass.
This...
I'd seriously love if they revisited Pass The Jam. Of course with real lyrics, and a bit less Bruce. The structure of the song is a lot looser than usual and actually utilizes all three guitarists.
For anyone who missed it or wants to relive the experience, here is a link to the whole listening party:

My two takeaways from the listening party are:
-Two Davey songs on the new album ("Dave writes a song every three years")
-They're going to play Only The Good Die Young ("SH: I wouldn't mind playing this live at some point")
