OPETH DISCOGRAPHY RANKING GAME - Still Life wins!

Orchid is far from my favorite Opeth album, but it is one of the key albums I always listen to in October. It has an undeniably dark, spooky atmosphere that could only be achieved by having very little time or money in which to record (also recording in a basement helps). I agree with...

    USA Politics

As a rabid anti-Trumper, I don't believe Trump is a Nazi. Trump respects the hell out of people like Hitler, though. Not for his beliefs, but for his ability to claim power, to influence people, to have the grip of history in his hands. He admires the hell out of it and strives to be like Hitler...

In before the, "those public records are fake and so are any evidence, interviews or court documents that report negativity about Trump because.....CONSPIRACIES" replies.

    Judas Priest

Judas Priest performing the entire Painkiller album is probably the only way they'd get me to buy a ticket again.

OPETH DISCOGRAPHY RANKING GAME - Still Life wins!

This was the second album with Fredrik on lead guitar, and he is an absolute beast of a player. Shame he joined at their weakest moment, though. I'd say Lines is one of the other decent tunes, for sure. My single biggest complaint of Nupeth. This is my second biggest complaint about Nupeth...

OPETH DISCOGRAPHY RANKING GAME - Still Life wins!

Sorceress is just such a (poorly) mixed bag. I also ranked it second-to-last and most of that is down to the ludicrous amount of interlude/unfinished tracks, the psychedelic leanings, and just pure lame songwriting. Not to mention, the mix is atrocious. I don't hate Sorceress the way I hate...

    Iced Earth

Lame. He also made a full statement about it: "I profoundly regret my actions on January 6th, 2021. I haven't been a perfect man, but for the majority of my life, I've been a very productive man, and have tried to live my life with integrity and a disciplined work ethic. I deeply love our...

    The Future Past Tour 2024

Same! I was in the pit about 15 rows back and it was simply astounding. Second best show I've seen after LOTB 2019. Bruce was on fire, Adrian was incredible, Nicko kept the tempos great (even if he had some minor flubs and some simplifications)...just a great performance. I did notice this...

OPETH DISCOGRAPHY RANKING GAME - Still Life wins!

Heritage is easily Opeth's weakest album and my least favorite Opeth album. Opeth is a band with many transition albums, i.e. collections of songs where you can hear Mikael's songwriting pushing and pulling into a new territory while being unable to fully leave the past behind. Although I...

    Dream Theater

My first thought was how easy this set should be for him.

    Dream Theater

IDK guys, I can't tune it out and it certainly taints the experience. I'm looking forward to seeing Dream Theater again in the spring, but if Portnoy weren't there I wouldn't have bought tickets. And based on the videos from last night, I won't be paying to see them again after this year.

Bruce Dickinson Solovivor 2024 - "BOOK OF THEL" WINS!

We’re in the top ten, my friend, all of this is gravy. Except ATOS, which has no place here.

Bruce Dickinson Solovivor 2024 - "BOOK OF THEL" WINS!

Alright, now the bloodbath begins for real. These are all top tier songs. If I have to vote for two that are slightly lesser than the others, I’ll go with Chemical Wedding and The Alchemist.

METALLICA ALBUM RANKING GAME: FINAL LIST

I'm a little surprised that RTL beat MOP here, even if the ratings were incredibly close. I certainly agree that RTL has a vitality and a vibe to it that might be unmatched in the Metallica discography, but MOP has overall stronger songs. I honestly like them both pretty equally, though I find...

Looks like Christian Bale cosplaying as James LaBrie.

Bruce Dickinson Solovivor 2024 - "BOOK OF THEL" WINS!

I completely agree about the chorus, it’s great. But the verses and bridge are just tuneless meandering. I find it to be one of Bruce’s worst vocal compositional moments of all time (barring the great chorus, of course).

Bruce Dickinson Solovivor 2024 - "BOOK OF THEL" WINS!

I will only vote for A Tyranny of Souls until it’s gone. It has no right to be in a Bruce Top 10, and certainly not as the only representative from its namesake album. IMO it’s easily the weakest track on the whole album.

METALLICA ALBUM RANKING GAME: FINAL LIST

It's just a bit rough. It sounds like an early take (or, more likely, like they did very few takes). The same can be said of all the vocals on St. Anger, the difference here is that it's actually a good melody and song.

Bruce Dickinson Solovivor 2024 - "BOOK OF THEL" WINS!

Tyranny and Shadow The rest are deserving of the Top 10.
