    explain your nicks please

Mine is obviously a misspelling of hellfire. It's a name I've been using online and in video games for a few years. It comes from the name of a failed attempt of mine at starting a band (Hellfire Club - from the  gang in X-Men of the same name)

    SO CRUEL (TormenTo!!!)

Re: SO CRUEL ( metal band from spain) Wow, I'm surprised these guys are unsigned. This is professional quality music.

    NOW WATCHING

Just finished Red Dragon, the prequel to Silence of the Lambs. In my opinion it matches and possibly possibly even surpasses Silence of the Lambs. The villain is better developed but equally disturbing, and he has a human side unlike Silence of the Lambs' Buffalo Bill. The scenes between Edward...

    Farewell, friends!

    Thanks, that explains a lot.

    Farewell, friends!

As confused as I am on what exactly happened, that still sounds like a brilliant prank. I hate to ask stupid questions, but is there some backstory I'm not aware of as to why Thousand Suns' "return" has any significance?

Fastest Human Calculator in the West!

Wow, I can't even imagine that being humanly possible. Standard human short-term memory can only comprehend about 5-9 numbers at a time, assuming no observable patterns. Most calculators don't even exceed 100 digits let alone calculate thirtheenth roots. That's just mind-blowing.

    Best Maiden song

Well, since I can't re-vote I'll just list my other six. The Sign of the Cross - brilliant lyrics and musicianship, an amazingly heavy yet beautiful song Revelations - my favorite track off my favorite album, just a beautiful and lyrically amazing song Still Life - a great rocker with a...

    Best Maiden song

My vote goes to Brighter Than a Thousand Suns. Lyrically I think it's maiden's best and Bruce's vocals are at top form, especially in the chorus. The riffing and solos are amazing and the song maintains a constant energy for nearly 9 minutes.
  9. Glory2Hypnotoad

    best child song

I'm going with Children of the Damned. I think it's one of Maiden's most beautiful songs. The vocals and the guitar-work are brilliant.

best Maiden song featuring French origined words

My vote goes to The Clairvoyant. Musically and lyrically it's a unique experience like almost everything on Seventh Son. Monstegur vomes in a close second for sheer heaviness.

Vote for "The Person" song you admire the most

I have to go with the Calirvoyant. For satarters, as a character song, it has the most interestign character fo the bunch. The singing on this song is great and the lyrics are among Maiden's best, simple as they are. For me it just never gets old for some reason.

The silliest poll yet: your impending doom.

I'd lose my soul to the Lord of Light. I'm a sucker for a solid gold fiddle, you see.
  13. Glory2Hypnotoad

    The worst poll ever.

For me it's undoubtedly Brighter than a Thousand Suns. The lyrics are incredibly deep, the riffing and solos are great, and Bruce is really at the top of his game vocally.

    In and Out

For me it's Back in the Village. It's probably the heaviest of this bunch and has some of the coolest riffing I've heard from Maiden. Plus the song just has such a great sense of action about it.

I saw Beowulf last night. It was quite good, not great, but still very good. The action was intense and the simulated acting was surprisingly convincing. The story was quite different from the epic poem, but it worked nonetheless. I saw it in 2D, which from what I hear is missing half the fun...

    Judas Priest

That's great news, I'm hearing about this album for the first time. So that most likely means an early '08 release date I'd assume. Can't wait.

    The "A"s of Maiden

My vote goes to The Aftermath for the unbelievably realistic image it paints of war. Afraid to Shoot Strangers a very close second.

There's a difference between a graphic novel and a comic book. I'm not a big reader of either but from what I understand a comic book is in periodic issues and a graphic novel is a compilation of comic books, or a comic book that tells the whole story in a single volume. Really it's just pure...

I know what you mean, LC. Out of curisity, have you read Watchmen? It's another one of Alan Moore's better graphic novels. I've been meaning to read it before the upcoming movie, but I can't seem to really get into it for some reason.

    NOW WATCHING

I just saw V for Vendetta for the fifth or sixth time to commemorate the fifth of November. It's amazing how it just never gets old. I think I like it a little more every time I watch it.
