Was there ever this much anticipation here for a new album? I joined just after AMOLAD came out so I honestly have no clue.

I'm really enjoying it so far.  So far the highlights for me are Sacred worlds, Ride Into Obsession, and A Voice in the Dark. It has a bit more of Blind Guardian's old speed metal sound mixed with their modern sound. It has a few minor dull spots and the closer, Wheel of Time doesn't live up to...

So far it's in roughly this order for me Blind Guardian - At the Edge of Time Sabaton - Coat of Arms Orphaned Land - Neverending Way of Orwarrior Blaze - Promise and Terror Avantasia - The Wicked Symphony

For me it's Angel of Retribution. It's the album that got me into Priest when I was younger and gave me a great showcase of all the band's different styles. Plus i really prefer Halford's older, gruffer voice.

A great song, though for some reason I was expecting a long epic instead of a standard opener. Probably one of of Maiden's coolest videos though. And Eddie looks so much better in the video than on the album cover. I can see why they went with this version of Eddie now; the previous pictures...

Re: 45 minutes to go on the countdown! EVERYONE! Get in here and party! Same goes for me actually, I became a fan shortly after AMOLAD then went through their discography backwards. So I guess this is the first Maiden album I get to anticipate before it comes out.

I'm partial to Part 1, probably because it felt like a step in the right direction after The Glorious Burden. It had a faster pace than Part 2, and more variety. Part 2 was nearly all mid-paced songs with a few ballads thrown it, making it less fun as a whole.  But my biggest complaint about...

I think the problems with most of The Glorious Burden's first disc had less to do with Owens and more with lazy songwriting. As much as I love Matt Barlow, I can't imagine him redeeming the weaker songs off the album.

Maybe I'm naive but I think this is just a phase for Schaffer. Plenty of people  feel what seems like an  awakening when they get politically involved and begin researching for the first time and take skepticism so far that it returns full  circle to gullibility. Yeah, I think Schaffer may have gone slightly insane, but at least this new political obsession of his has replaced his recent obsession with palm-muting every riff he plays.
