Made sense to get the Senjutsu stuff out of the way first in a LotB-set. If Eternity Should Fail was a more mid-tempo opener, but it at least had the instrumental break where it shifted into a new gear, Senjutsu doesn't have that so it fell flat in my book.
Could have ended up much worse, but Bruce dislodging Nicko's gong in 2023 causing it to fall on Nicko was interesting.
Checking YouTube, the Bruce gong bit went sideways more than I thought.
Think that was at the Bristow (Wash DC) show. Bruce totally loses his place either the first or second verse and it standing on the riser staring down at H and Steve staring back up at him. Then Bruce just says "Fuck it, I'm going home" then walks back down the stairs off the riser.
I forgot if...
Because a suggestion of a song placement swap for Run For Your Lives in the tour thread worked for my brain, I wanted to re-organize LotB 2.0 to see how it looked. Knowing three songs had to be scrapped to make place for the Senjutsu stuff, I've got...
Legacy of the Beast 2.0... 2.1?

I believe when the band started returning to the stage in 2021, Lars had started using a click. Practice? Well, I hope he was doing something while in quarantine.
I think the greatest bit from 2009's opener was Bruce telling Adrian during the false start to Wasted Years "Wrong, get your eyes fucking checked" then goes ahead and says goodnight right before Iron Maiden starts. :D
While I'm not saying Maiden is as big of a draw as Metallica, bear in mind Metallica's stage setup is designed to cram as many people into the venue as possible.
Yeah, the RFYL version of the tape cuts out the brief pauses between each line. I don't think the actual delivery of the line is sped up though if I recall correctly.
I think in his "Nicko's Setlist" series before the 2019 tour he may have mentioned something about using a click on The Wicker Man so he doesn't speed up and burn his right foot off on the chorus.
Funny enough there'd been plenty griping as of late they haven't gone as 'deep' with their setlist choices. It's gotten a bit better the last two shows in Frankfurt though.
I think, if anything, there'd be some swaps from the current set.
1. The Wicker Man
2. Stratego
3. Killers
4. Dance of Death
5. The Number of the Beast
6. Infinite Dreams
7. Powerslave
8. The Writing on the Wall
9. Rime of the Ancient Mariner
10. Run to the Hills
11. Sign of the Cross
12. The...
Spiritual, but not religious, I suppose? Subscribe to the notion there's an energy that connects all living things together - and it's not really a giant bearded man in the sky. In terms of believing in an afterlife, maybe? But probably not the concept that's proposed in religion.
