    Sea of Madness

Re: Daily Song: Sea of Madness I love this song, it has a great chorus and a wonderful section in the middle, and the guitars really give it a weird sort of dystopiate future sound. I give it a 9.

    Powerslave

I voted a 10. Angry, serene and then frantic, and then angry again before the final scream of desperation. It just encapsulates what the album is all about with some utterly sublime and beautiful guitar work, evoking ancient Egypt from the very first chord to the last.

Best/Worst Iron Maiden albums by Track Position - DONE

Re: Best/Worst Iron Maiden albums by Track Position (continuing next BEST Track #3) ^^ Very true, I found myself struggling to make a choice here. Was disappointed to see Losfer Words already eliminated but in truth I wouldn't have voted for it anyway. My choice is Afraid to Shoot Strangers.

Iron Maiden Survivor 2010 finished: Hallowed remains champion

Re: Iron Maiden Survivor 2010: AMOLAD round 2 (Oct 27-28) How is Caught Somewhere In Time on the verge of elimination?! It's a fantastic song!

Iron Maiden "Head-to-Head" Song Tournament (Round 7: Group B) [abandoned]

Re: Iron Maiden "Head-to-Head" Song Tournament (Round 3: Group F) Looks like I'm in the minority that preferred Hooks In You to Can I Play with Madness. I do like both songs though, there's just something about HIY. Hooks In You Wildest Dreams Charlotte the Harlot Dance of Death No More Lies...

    The Final Frontier charts' thread

Like I said, there is a good case for it being 40. Read my post above, I'm pretty sure we can verify it too with a little research.

    Best title track

Caught Somewhere In Time should be a title track, but ah well. My favourite is my favourite overall Maiden song, Powerslave. It just encapsulates what the album is all about with some utterly sublime and beautiful guitar work, evoking ancient Egypt from the very first chord to the last...

Greatest Metal Album (Non Maiden) GRAND FINAL

Re: Greatest Metal Album (Non Maiden) Round 4 My favourite non-Maiden is either Ride The Lightning or Rust In Peace, neither of which are an option. So I voted Anthrax... I guess I just like thrash  :shred:

Favorite Maiden Live Album (2010 Edition, voting closed)

I only own Live After Death and Flight 666, so my opinion isn't perhaps the most valid. I personally prefer Flight 666, there are some very good live versions on there (especially love Powerslave and Moonchild) and like the poster above says, it really captures the excitement and the whole scale...

Favorite Maiden Album (2010 Edition, voting closed)

Powerslave, it's been my favourite for some time now. I just think that it is a very consistant record, and even the weakest track (Back in the Village IMO) is very listenable. Some of the best guitar work on here too. SIT is probably their next most consistant album for me, with only one...

What Iron Maiden song you heard first?

I am one of the 'GTA Generation' and as such have been introduced to a good many songs and artists through the games. So it may come as no suprise that the first Maiden track I heard was 2 Minutes to Midnight which was featured on the GTA: Vice City Radio Soundtrack on their "VROCK" station...

    The Final Frontier charts' thread

According to the article on Wikipedia: "The album reached #1 in the respective Albums Charts in: UK, Sweden, Greece, Iceland, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, France, Slovenia, Slovakia, Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary...

    The Final Frontier charts' thread

Wait... didn't the album peak at #1 in 40 different countries? I ask because it's all doom and gloom in this thread. #1 in 40 countries is a record for heavy metal that even Mainstream Metallica haven't touched. We should be rejoicing.

    lets discuss some underrated tunes.

^^ I love CSIT too, I think the break-down into the solo section and then the absolutely seemless wind down back into the main riff is sublime, and like you say, is amongst the best examples of 'Perfect Maiden' as you will find. There are so many underrated songs with Maiden I find because...

Which is the sleeper hit on the album for you?

To be honest, the whole album was a sleeper for me. I listened to El Dorado first and thought it was very catchy and a decent song, but hoped the rest of the album would be better, then I listened to the title track and thought "this is ok, but what else is there?" and when I finished listening...

"Coming Home" announced as Iron Maiden's next single.

Great choice, I love that song and it is the kind of thing that would make a good single.
