Native English speaker in the house yo. I hear it was this....
He was asked about surprises at Knebworth and I take his meaning to be "forget Knebworth, there's a surprise in the setlist and you'll find out in Athens."
That surprise could be Alex but considering his previous mention of...
Apparently it was shelved due to the sheer amount of flags in the audience, a lot of the shots didn't look good. I've never been convinced by this excuse but that's what the word is. Does anyone know if this was this an official excuse or just a little back channel drip feed? Or fandom fantasy?
Yah, I'm certain there was unseen crowd footage from Hammersmith, can't remember performance stuff. Steve did say recently that the material is ok from an archival point of view but wasn't of a high enough level for a full release in 82. So I reckon we will get that full show as part of a...
Number 2 is the only piece here that was news to me. I'm not sure how well known the others are but if I've heard them then they ain't no secrets. Steve sweeping the streets, 12 Wasted Years maybe, not sure. Dave Lights early connection is in the official bio. Rods coke might be Bruce's bio and...
Watched it last night, some points based on what folk have already mentioned here...
Sound in my cinema was weird, music was super low. Raaaage. Flight 666 was bombastic in the cinema, this was not. I assumed it was a stylistic choice but apparently not cos seone here said it was loud at their...
I bought 4 tickets assumin some of my cronies would like to attend. Like fuck, can't even give the bastards away. Love an empty seat beside me in the cinema though, somewhere to put my jacket and bag of cans.
This feels like a Blasphemous Thread. I just looked at this last page and there's at least 2 of my Top 10 in here. I just love to read how wrong some people are some times, it's lovely.
Anyway, 3 songs, can't even. In terms of frequently mentioned songs, I love Invaders. The chorus is a bit...
Ooooh, derailment, what happened to Dave Lights? How and when did he leave the scene? Official releases seem to remember him fondly and respect his part in things.
I was also joking. Cos that's not Dave Pratchett. Cos Dave Pratchett famously didn't want credited for his DOD work. And the guy in the pic is dressed kinda like Terry Pratchett, gods rest his hilarious soul. Maybe our wit is just too sharp for some.
Coincidentally, I'm just reading Steve's liner notes on The Number of the Beast Over Hammersmith for the first time (cos that's the kinda shit I do of a Sunday evening).
Steve says there was significant pressure on Beast cos they needed all new songs. He said the pressure suited them so on...
I reckon it's changed over the years. Studio time in the early days was dictated by pressure and lack of money, golden era they were on fire so things flowed fast and nowadays maybe they don't want to spend too much money on a studio considering the diminished returns from studio albums.
If...
