    USA Politics

I have heard of neither 2025 or Agenda 47, if it’s some long republican thing I don’t have any interest in reading it sorry.

    USA Politics

Going back to my point about there only being two types of people that talk about politics on forums: what I expressed was a genuine feeling of mine in this Politics thread, and I’m being accused of accelerating fascism. It is interesting sometimes being online. My politics genuinely aren’t very...

    USA Politics

I’m a pretty firm believer there’s only being two types of people that talk about politics in moderated forums, those on the left, and those that don’t talk about politics. Guess where I am. I’m actually a little shocked Brandon stepped down, my dad and my brother were just talking about this on...

The Greatest Metal Song Cup - Part II, Round 5, Matches 79-84

I agree though I voted Poison for personal bias, I listen to more Cooper now than Manilla Road, but there’s something to be said that that 3 piece Manilla Road lineup of the 80’s puts a lot of bands to shame. I don’t think USPM ever quite reached the heights of that run of Crystal Logic through...

The Greatest Metal Song Cup - Part II, Round 5, Matches 79-84

Poison versus Necropolis is brutal, two of my all time favorite songs. Slightly leaning Cooper, his late 80’s early 90’s work is AMAZING! Great glam sound

The Greatest Metal Song Cup - Part II, Round 5, Matches 79-84

You can put me in the camp of people that never “got” Cemetery Gates. I’ve tried a couple times to get into it but just never got the song. It’s ok I guess, but I see it compared to other metal epics like Hallowed or Heaven and Hell a lot. It’s nowhere near that level frankly. I’m not the...

    NOW PLAYING

Awesome live performance, I have this on Blu Ray and I've been watching it for many years. Currently playing: Today I've been listening to a lot of Motorhead, Saxon and a hardcore band called Dead Heat that I saw live a couple months ago.

The Greatest Metal Song Cup - Part II, Round 5, Matches 79-84

When I was younger than I am now, I loved Octavarium. I thought it was the most epic thing ever, and I loved the “trapped inside this Octavarium!” part. I still kind of get chills thinking about it. But now my taste has devolved into (almost) strictly Motörhead and hair metal (I think this is...

    Saxon

Sorry for the 2+ year old quote, but this is a sentiment I agree with. I’m about 8 albums in to my Saxon deep dive (choosing albums at random more or less) and it is interesting that in recent years they are guaranteed to be 2 to 3 absolute masterclasses on each new Saxon album, but the rest of...

    The Concert Thread

I saw their headlining set in Birmingham! First US show of the year and it KILLED! Chopped in Half/Turned Inside Out and Visions in my Head were my favorites. Barely Alive was great too as the “opener”. Pit was pretty insane too, I got knocked on my ass so hard I was bruised for 2 weeks. My...

The Greatest Metal Song Cup - Part II, Round 5, Matches 79-84

I hope Darkthrone doesn’t get blown out here. Transilvanian Hunger (the track and the album) is a high point in Darkthrone’s discography. I don’t really resonate with a lot of black metal anymore, but the melancholic droning of Transilvanian Hunger is so mesmerizing. The perfect winter afternoon...

    Saxon

That’s awesome. I saw a clip of them playing it in Scotland from this year and they, especially Biff, sound really good this go around! On their headlining shows, I’ve been surprised at how many songs they’ve been playing. Their set lists from this year have been pretty varied and it’s cool...

Favourite Power Trios in Metal/Hard Rock

Still can't believe Dan Beehler can play drums like that and sing at the same time. Very amazing. Absu also gets a nod for me. Manilla Road might be my all time favorite metal power trio. Mark The Shark Shelton, Scott Park and Randy "Thrasher" Foxe made some real magic in the 80's.

    Saxon

I've been listening to more Saxon recently. I'm committed to relistening to all their albums, but I'm starting with the ones I don't remember too much from. So far I've relistened to Into the Labyrinth, Forever Free, Killing Ground, Sacrifice, and Solid Ball of Rock. Forever Free has actually...

The Greatest Metal Song Cup - Part II, Round 5, Matches 79-84

I more so have an anti-“bad music” bias ;) (Children of Bodom fans I promise that’s my only one, I just can’t stand this band)

    The Parchment

Funny, I heavily disliked Senjutsu as a whole but my first time listening to The Parchment I knew it was very special. It’s in my top ten Iron Maiden songs right now. Can’t quite put my finger on it but it’s special.

    Saxon

I’ve really been kicking myself this past week for not listening to it for so long. I’ve probably listened to it about 10 times in the past 2 days alone. I seriously can’t get over how awesome those keyboards are!

Wow, that one does rock, I think I’ll check out Killing Ground next as well. The title track from the album rules too
