But he didn't jump at him.  That hit is a carbon copy of every blue-line crossing.  Hockey players don't just skate into someone when they deliver a body check.

So?  Where are his feet when he first makes contact?  There's this thing called physics.  And when a 230 lb, 6'2 man runs into you at 50 km/h, he's going to impart some force.

He didn't leave his feet. I think this is a case of suspending to the injury, but seeing as how it's Rome and Horton that's not too bad.  I think a one game suspension was called for.

To quote DownGoesBrown: "Admit it, it would be fun to watch Roberto Luongo win a Stanley Cup and still be roundly criticized for not doing it "clutchily" enough."

Is everyone forgetting that the Czechs won the worlds last year?

The Czech situation is not nearly as bad as Slovakia's, who are going to be terrible in the future.

    Incredible game last night.

Toskala's not playing anywhere.  He rejected a contract from Calgary, then could not even make the Swedish Elite League.  AFAIK, he's not playing at all.

Nah.  He had his stick horizontal across Kesler for a good five seconds.  Don't know how you can't call it.

Worst actors/actresses, films and TV shows

Adaptation, Leaving Las Vegas, Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans, Lord of War... I mean, he's in a lot of bad movies, but he's almost always the highlight of said bad movie.

Cage is a great actor.  He's just in debt up to his eyeballs and has to take really shitty roles.

I'd agree.  I can't see Philly's offence being as effective against Boston.

As much as everyone's talking about Philly's goaltending problems, Boucher, outside of two awful goals, played very well in that series, almost entirely sans Pronger. I think people are exaggerating how bad their goaltending situation is.  It was chaotic, yes, but Boucher's shown he can get it...

Possible North American spring 2012 tour!

But that would conflict with the tour of Pakistan they're planning for Mid-March.

If I were Hawks fans (or Leafs fans that matter) I wouldn't get too excited about your young rookie goalie for next season.  Keep your expectations low; Crawford will more than earn his paycheck if he plays solid hockey for the Hawks next year.  Players, especially rookies, have regressive years...

The Vancouver/Chicago series was one of the best I've ever seen.

Would be a good idea; only trouble is potential for scorer bias, but that exists everywhere as is.  Shot quality neutral save percentage essentially does the same thing, and you can find stats for recent seasons out there on the net.
