I can’t speak for the rest of the world and remember this was pre internet days too but, Maiden to me seemed massive in the UK in the first half of the 1990’s.
The chart positions for both NPFTD and FOTD albums and their singles were very high plus I remember they seemed to be in all the music...
I don’t agree, there’s no need for any sort of statement from Simon or anything else about his appointment from the band or management.
It’s been said by the band already that Nicko is still very much involved and that Simon is only a touring drummer (for now). If plans change and he does...
I don’t think you’ve fully grasped what I’ve been trying to say.
I totally get that people might not like NOTB and prefer other albums, I’ve even said it’s not in my top 5 maiden and there’s plenty of other albums that I prefer.
My question was, even if you don’t like the album is it really an...
I don’t even know what hate keep means, don’t spend enough time on online forums to understand the online vernacular.
I’m fully aware that peoples opinions are different and subjective.
My post was simply asking why is NOTB trashed so much as I’ve seen and heard loads of people trashing it of...
I think when Blaze joined Maiden there was a combination of him being super nervous about fronting a massive band like Maiden and having to fill the shoes of a legendary vocalist plus I bet Steve and Rod gave him very specific instructions on what to do which in wolfsbane he wasn’t used too.
I...
Is it popular these days for so called “hardcore maiden fans” to rubbish NOTB?
I’ve seen this quite a bit over the last few years were long term Maiden fans have been slating the album and saying it’s massively over rated with tons of weak tracks.
In my opinion NOTB doesn’t even get into my...
I got into Maiden when NPFTD was the current album so the FOTD album was the first new release album for me.
Being from the uk Maiden were still huge in their home country and there was a lot of buzz around the band. I know both NPFTD and FOTD get a lot of criticism as albums but at the time of...
No Steve no Maiden, simple.
No point even discussing it as we’re never gonna an incarnation of the band without Steve.
I think if Steve says he’s ready to hang up Maiden for good the rest of the band would respect him enough to just agree. I could never see anyone saying “well I want to carry...
I have a strong feeling that Infinite Dreams and Still life will be on the set list. These are the big songs outside of Alexander the Great, that fans have been calling for since they were left off the Maiden England revival tour back in 2013.
I also think Only the good die young will make an...
This is it. All releases since 2015 are all from the hi res digital remasters done in 2015. Anything released since 2015 is just a re release and will be the remaster from 2015.
The 2015 remasters were the last batch of remasters to be released on CD.
As far as I’m aware these are the latest versions of the albums currently available. I may be wrong but I thought the last vinyl re releases came out before 2015.
lol, Steve’s pub band has recorded 2 albums and toured the world following iron maiden. Don’t think joes career offers him more than that at the moment.
I wonder if Joe could step into British lion as the drummer now Simon has moved over to Maiden? This could mean Joe gets to play with Steve and they can see how they gel whilst Simon covers for 2025 and if all goes well with Joe in BL then he then takes over from Simon in Maiden in 2026.
That...
Please, that’s a little dramatic isn’t it.
Can’t believe so many people are up in arms about this and being quite disrespectful.
Look,Simon is a professional drummer who’s played with Steve for more that 12 years. The rest of Maiden are all pros so I’m sure they can all play iron maiden songs...
I don’t think they did. I think they were all hoping (Nicko included) that he would see out the 50th anniversary tour too.
IMO I think Nicko has realised quite recently, in the last couple of months maybe, that he has to hang it up. It could be doctors orders as there may be a further issue...
Makes total sense. No way at this stage would Steve get someone in that he’s never played with.
This also makes me think this is definitely a stepping stone appointment to honour the run for your lives tour. I definitely think when this tour is done we might see a different Maiden. Maybe a...
Wow, gonna be strange seeing them next year now without Nicko.
I totally get his reasons for this but it has come as a bit of a surprise as I always imagined the band would bow out together, ie if one of them stops they all stop.
I can only imagine that as the run for your lives tour has...
At least these guys are being honest with what a farewell tour actually means and not duping the fans into thinking it will be the last time ever you could see them.
