Your argument would work if the calendar said 2016 and everything was working like the cogs in a machine but we have just entered 2026 and the future of Maiden is very unclear. In my head, it's more likely they call it a day than record a new album and go out on a regular album tour. Not after...
People are generally both naive and lack understanding of how these things work. There's the idea of a band that plans a tour, book venues, promote gigs, sells tickets and book transfer and accommodation. Maybe in the era of the "Green Goddess" but not at this scale. You put yourself up in a...
Since Bruce has already stated that 2027 will see the release of a new solo album, I'm not sure they will fit a Maiden album in there as well (along with promo and other stuff). 2027 is probably clear in the band calendar but I'm sure Steve will work with the live stuff from Paris.
I think the 28 Years Later stuff needs its own thread. The Iron Maiden connection shows up in every review I read. Will this be the thing that fills the stadiums next summer? Is Rod friends with Danny Boyle? :)
Fucking finally! Norwegians in here - a fellow friendly neighbor (Swedish) and maidenhead needs an explanation (and possibly, an apology!). Going to Tons of Rock because I wasn't finished with the boys just yet. And Blood Incantation the day before! Two days of celebration and festivity booked...
I have seen Anthrax a few times and while I'd probably pick them before any of the "usual suspects" as warm-up, I'm surprised at how many are so pumped to see them opening for Maiden.
I've said it before, but hitting that 50 year mark was probably as important as life itself for Steve (well, Maiden IS his life) and replacing a drummer was a necessity to reach that goal. But I'm sure it hurt. Now, there's still a lot of work going forward with a huge second leg world tour but...
Yeah, I just found them and checked the Ticketmaster one for a few dates. I don't know what point is of all this. Fanclub presale is one thing, but all the other options seem fishy to me. Gouging the price in a fake presale so that you feel you are being let in to an exclusive offer that soon...
We are still talking about presale tickets here, right? You can't say anything about general sales until a few weeks have passed.
Edit: I went back a few pages. So it's not just the prices, but they have managed to f*ck up the presale by giving every living being a chance to get tickets due to...
No matter who's doing what, a new album is an engagement that goes on for several years. If there's no hard plans right now for an actual album recording, they will have to commit to that pretty soon if they intend to work like they have done in the past. Steve's mindset will have to change on...
I know that everyone is caught up on the NA tours but Copenhell have now scheduled Maiden for June 24:th, which means that Tons of Rock/Oslo will be on the 26:th 25:th (not yet scheduled publicly). So that concludes the France -> Denmark -> Norway -> back to France itinerary. Of course, there's...
Feel free to speculate on what that would be. I mean, there's no "Nicko's not doing well" to bring to the table and Bruce certainly has all the energy he needs nowadays. Of course, an update regarding other band members' health status would always come out of the blue if there weren't rumors...
It's been like that at least since Powerslave. I can't think of any other band that has this level of "packaging" several years of activity based on a single album release and its cover. It's always been important for Maiden, not just when album sales went down. And I'm convinced album sales has...
