The only recent re-release that was any good was the TNOTB. It was a great idea to package the album with Beast Over Hammersmith. I’m not a fan of Total Eclipse, but I will let that slide.

They have really dropped the ball on the anniversary editions. LAD was ridiculous. Loads of other classic bands have put out a boxset for the anniversary of their classic album. Goodness knows why Maiden didn’t.

Correct. I used to listen to cassettes and CDs (never interested in vinyl) until around 2015. I am only listening digitally now. Digital downloads, Spotify, YT Music... with my earphones, without disturbing anyone around (not everybody in my surroundings likes Heavy metal/ rock). Also, with the earphones, I enjoy the music much more...the stereo sound and the harmonies are much more enjoyable that way IMO. Plus, it is easier to distinguish the different guitar layers (and the sound of the 3 amigos with Iron Maiden). Even though I bought it, I don't think I listened to TBOS on CD, more than 5 times.

If Maiden were to respond I bet it'll be along the lines of " some of the 2015 vinyls are difficult to get hold of for our newer, younger fans. This is an opportunity for the kids to get all the Maiden vinyls in one place with this unique release "

I am going to do something similar, to be honest, I wouldn't even bother if it's the 2019 digipack. Doubt they did anything to the sound. The big, oversized cases for Book and Senjutsu don't appeal to me at all.

I have a pretty healthy Maiden collection. I have been contemplating downsizing some elements of it, but wouldn’t know where to start. Maybe some of the CD singles…

This. TNOTB was exactly what these anniversary/colored editions should have been. Package it with the corresponding live album or something unreleased.... Maybe even include the singles released from the albums in their original packaging, IDK. I have a few of the singles they put out back in like 2014 or so, but they quickly went scarce and expensive. Just give me a reason to buy the albums again other than "this one's yellow!"

CD singles would be a good start I believe. You can continue with anything you haven't been using (in this case listening) for the last 5-10 years. Chances are you won't be using them again. The harder part is to get over the emotional connection, I think.

I’m not getting rid of all of my CDs. I did have a cull of albums before my house move. Basically things that didn’t ’give me joy’, as Marie Kondo would say.

I will have a look at the collection again.
