When? During his illness? Steve HarrisNow that we’re at it, does anyone know who had the bright idea of reducing Nicko’s drum fills from barely any to practically none?
No, I mean while recording and playing live on this tour and for this album! I guess that, for the recording, Nicko either had limited time or was never there, and they had to somehow assemble the drum sound. But for the live shows, though? I think the first time, for example, “Futureal” was played with fills was with BruceWhen? During his illness? Steve Harris
For me sounds the same but faster. No, I mean while recording and playing live on this tour and for this album! Eh, there's nothing to suggest it wasn't simply a poor artistic decision. Same as No Prayer was when it was "back to the basics", this time it was "oh, what if the drums just keep a really steady beat this time without all the fuss of fills".No, I mean while recording and playing live on this tour and for this album! Steve played the drums on that album. It's well knownNo, I mean while recording and playing live on this tour and for this album! Well, no disrespect but he looks like a cartoon character.I love Blaze. He looked pretty badass on the 95 tour. He looked like a roadie on this one
Yep, thought so myself!
90s men, im upset because on the documentaries films and im history tours and dvd they dont speak about it. Steve went into full control in 1992 with real live and dead one. The bass was all over the mix, and was a talk back then how loud was the bass, then bruce departure and steve x factor that now we love but in 1995 after all that great albums was like WTF is this?????? we know about the divorce ,bruce leaving and blaze coming in but thats all.It is a bit scary to think that Steve completely lost it after 1992. I think Martin bib a lot of the dirty work for Maiden's sound!
It certainly was a low period for Maiden, but I would have to disagree about people loving TXF. I hated it the day it was released, and I still hate it to this day, tbh. I get what Steve was trying to do, but I think he failed on almost every level. One can say that Bruce didn't sell that much at the time, but artistically, his work was on another planet. What Maiden did at the time is worse than some amateur artists recording at home!90s men, im upset because on the documentaries films and im history tours and dvd they dont speak about it.
