I don't think it will be a massacre like some seem to think, Democrats will 100% take back the house, it's not unusual to see a flip in the midterms. But with what seats are actually up for re-election in the senate Republicans are likely to keep a very slim majority.
Fair enough, kinda depends on how we define massacre. It's true that, if we're talking about the Dems winning every seat across the board, this probably won't happen. Since the general election in 2024 most races have had the Dems overperfo quite a bit. Many blue seats got a bigger lead, quite a few toss ups went for the Dems, while some very safe red seats saw the distance shrink.

Trump obviously has a die-hard core base that will never abandon him. He's pissing off and activating the apolitical crowd though. It's likely that there will be millions of voters who don't even really care about the Dems and their positions; they'll simply want Trump gone, and who can blame them?

That's all assuming that there'll be a traditional election, as @Yax correctly pointed out. For a moment it looked as if the GOP was winning the culture wars. Unfortunately for Trump, his massive fumble with Iran, after the shitshow that were the ICE murders and violence, his approval is tanking more and more. A fascist takeover like that needs more than simply willingness. There needs to be a baseline of support, and I think Trump overplayed his hand.

It's obviously too early to tell, and a looot can happen still, but quite a few things are blowing up in his face at the moment. Shame it took so much unnecessary suffering and deaths to get to such a point.

You asked whether he had any ties to russian officials - he clearly did. I can’t say with certainty that he was a russian asset, but he did have dealings with them.

I asked if he had ties with Russia, meaning if he tried to promote its policies the way he clearly he did for Israel.

There is no credible, well-documented connection between Jeffrey Epstein and Russia as a state, its government, or its intelligence services.
What is established
  • Epstein operated primarily in the United States, with activities also linked to places like the Caribbean (his private island) and parts of Europe.
  • Investigations, court filings, and journalism have focused on his financial dealings, social network, and criminal activities, not on ties to Russia.
There is no verified evidence that Epstein:
  • Conducted business in Russia
  • Had financial ties to Russian institutions
  • Was connected to Russian political figures or intelligence agencies
Bottom line
Any alleged connection between Epstein and Russia remains unproven and speculative, with no reliable evidence supporting it.

And Noam Chomsky had connections with Jeffrey Epstein. Why? They’re very different people from completely different circles. It makes you wonder if there was some common denominator - russia, perhaps? Something doesn’t seem quite right there.

In case of Chomsky the common denominator was women.
