Judas Priest

Can someone translate Judas Priest 50th anniversary tour setlist into Maiden one?
Like if Maiden played songs of the same rarity + classics what would it look like.

I never was into Judas Priest, I like some songs, but I always respected them for playing rare songs.

Basing it on their Bloodstock setlist (first night of the tour), and assuming Maiden is doing this setlist in 2025 after having done the Future Past Tour:

1. Only the Good Die Young (live debut)
2. Stratego
3. 2 Minutes to Midnight
4. Killers (not played since 1999)
5. Wasted Years
6. Die With Your Boots On (not played since 2005)
7. Coming Home
8. Powerslave
9. Burning Ambition (not played since 1979)
10. Phantom of the Opera
11. Lord of the Flies (not played since 2004)
12. Murders in the Rue Morgue (not played since 2005)
13. Another Life (not played since 2005)
14. The Clansman
15. Invaders (live debut)
16. Hallowed Be Thy Name

ENCORE
INTRO: Churchill's Speech
17. Aces High
18. The Trooper
19. Can I Play With Madness
20. The Number of the Beast
21. Run to the Hills

Songs from 11 different albums (a good number for such an anniv tour, if you don't play songs from every album and out of 17), not much more than 8, but so diverse with 9-10 deep cuts.

And of course because Priest don't have fully static setlists, Maiden would also have played the following later through the tour:
  • Where Eagles Dare
  • Women in Uniform
  • The Prisoner
Then in October '22 the setlist dramatically changes:

INTRO: Churchill's Speech
1. Aces High
2. Prowler (not played since 2005)
3. The Clairvoyant (not played since 2013)
4. Children of the Damned (not played since 2017)
5. Darkest Hour (live debut)
6. Seventh Son of a Seventh Son (not played since 2014)
7. The Wicker Man
8. 2 Minutes to Midnight
9. Flight of Icarus
10. Remember Tomorrow (not played since 2005)
11. Coming Home
12. The Writing on the Wall
13. To Tame a Land (not played since 1983)
14. Moonchild (not played since 2014)

ENCORE
15. The Trooper
16. The Number of the Beast
17. Run to the Hills

And they later also play:
  • Revelations

Thanks dude, this looks fire

This is a good interpretation. Quoting myself from an old post (from 2021):

A rough comparison:
  • "One Shot At Glory" - one of their greatest songs, never played live before. Probably equivalent to Maiden playing "Alexander the Great" (and they started the show with it! Imagine a Maiden concert is about to start and you hear wind, then "My son ask for thyself...")
  • "Rocka Rolla" - first time the song's been played in 40+ years. Maybe similar to Maiden bringing back "Purgatory"
  • "Blood Red Skies" - a long epic, first time played in almost a decade. Similar to Maiden bringing back "Phantom of the Opera" or "Afraid to Shoot Strangers" (last played in 2012 I think)
  • "Invader" - not a "major" song, but first time it's been played live since it was released in 1978. Maybe similar to Maiden playing "Sun and Steel" or (appropriately enough) "Invaders"
Then you have four more songs played for the first time in 10-15 years (two of which are great, two are okay), all from their classic era. Roughly similar to Maiden playing songs like "22 Acacia Avenue", "Drifter", "The Prisoner", etc.

On top of that you have a bunch of greatest hits ("You've Got Another Thing Comin'", "Turbo Lover", "Victim of Changes", "Painkiller", "Hell Bent for Leather", "Breaking the Law", "Living After Midnight"). The Maiden equivalent would be playing the obvious choices - RTTH, NOTB, Hallowed, 2MTM, Wasted Years, Iron Maiden, TETMD, FOTD, etc.

Very little new material - just one song. Equivalent maybe to "Wicker Man" or "El Dorado".

Yeah if Maiden hadn't played it on the Future Past Tour I'd have included it. Would have been an incredible concert opener. With it being out the list of unplayed Maiden closers is pretty small:
  • Only the Good Die Young
  • Mother Russia
  • The Unbeliever
  • Como Estais Amigos
  • The Thin Line Between Love and Hate
  • Empire of the Clouds
Of these, OTGDY makes the most sense. I'm sure they could change its presentation a bit (put the outro as the intro) to make it work.

I guess I'll avoid the Run For Your Lives format here and just do a custom 17-song set.

1. Invaders
2. 2 Minutes to Midnight
3. The Number of the Beast
4. Die With Your Boots On
5. The Evil That Men Do
6. The Clairvoyant
7. Remember Tomorrow
8. The Trooper
9. Run to the Hills
10. Rime of the Ancient Mariner
11. Killers
12. Empire of the Clouds
13. Fear of the Dark
14. Iron Maiden
===================
15. Aces High
16. Hallowed Be Thy Name
17. Wasted Years

Handful of debuts, the classics and some stuff that hasn't been played in 15-20+ years.
