Wow, huge upset by Seventh Wonder! So far the forum's Maiden bias isn't as strong as I expected, as so far Maiden has only topped two years with albums that would've arguably been the best on any respectable Metal list. I did think it was possible for Maiden to lose, but Seventh Wonder really came out of nowhere. Really happy to see some variety here.
Other winners include Sabaton who had a pretty huge jump with Coat of Arms, Blaze continues to be a dominant force with Promise & Terror having a respectable jump as well. Avantasia also quietly jumped up a few spaces and landed in the top 5. Once a more respected band around here, Alter Bridge had another flop with III being knocked out of the top 5. Speaking of losing streaks, if underwhelming performances by the first two Priest albums this century wasn't enough, Halford basically had no support from the jump and never moved out of its last place seed. Maybe he isn't made of Metal after all? The other big losers include Overkill and especially Fozzy. Part of me is surprised that Fozzy has never caught on around here as Jericho is a charismatic force in Metal and a massive Maiden fan, but obviously doesn't resonate with folks around here.
