RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2025 Tour Thread *SPOILERS INSIDE*

And I'm very happy. I haven't really watched a lot of YouTube stuff — for two reasons. The main one is it sounds shit… So I tend to not watch it, but I've seen a couple of things, and they're rocking out really well… But, yeah, he's doing great. And I really like Simon. I'm glad he is doing good.
Nicko McBrain Breaks the Silence on the New Maiden tour: “it sounds shit.”

I hear ya. My only wish for the current tour is they could fit in Infinite Dreams.

Has Nicko ever done New Frontier with Tart? You would think he would considering it's his only Maiden writing credit.

He has not, but he played it with his first Maiden tribute band, McBrain Damage, back in 2004.

There's an audio bootleg floating around out there, I believe I have it but will have to dig through some stuff!

Yeah I thought that too

Didn't know that, would love to hear it. He should also do Sun And Steel since he said he always wanted to play it. Bring a NPFTD song, Nick!

It was literally stated by Nicko once. Fair enough, you could argue he wasn't that serious about it, but all the same he didn't play Alexander with his band until after Maiden did it.
Did we ever get a direct quote from Nicko? Like was this something said in an interview or secondhand information from someone meeting him at his restaurant? The other takeaway that I had about this is that Alexander the Great may have been a special case because Steve actually intended on Maiden playing it at some point.

There's video of him stating it on stage at a Titanium Tart gig:

Thanks, this is exactly what I was looking for and hadn't seen the clip before, only the repeated claim on here that there was a "rule" about playing songs Maiden hasn't played before.

I mean, yea, to me it seems really clear that this was specifically about Steve not wanting Nicko to play Alexander the Great with a solo band when it was in the cards for Maiden.

I'm really curious what changed to make Maiden decide to finally play it when they did. In retrospect it feels like something that was inevitable, but there were also so many opportunities to do it that they passed up. I would also be curious if anybody knows about band members strongly hinting at them playing Alex live prior to 2020, because it seems like something about the pandemic break changed things. I know Bruce said "one day we'll play it" on a book tour date or something, but I think even that was after 2020 if I'm remembering right.

demand they play Infinite Dreams. I'm almost positive it would've happened since he's played it so many times with his solo band now, it's obvious he wanted to do it with Maiden too.
I honestly don’t think Bruce could sing it anymore. There’s an awful lot of words and little time for a breath. It was hard work for him in 1988!
I think so too. The songs he's played with his solo band in the last few years yet to be played by Maiden again:

Infinite Dreams, To Tame A Land, 22, Moonchild, Running Free, Parchment, Darkest Hour.
And they rehearsed Alexander but Steve wouldn’t let him play it. Source : Nicko told everyone at the gig this week.
