Name your fave three songs from the reunion era yet

1) Hell on Earth
2) Ghost of the Navigator
3) The Reincarnation of BB
Honorable mentions: The Wicker Man, Out of the Silent Planet, Rainmaker, Paschendale, the whole AMOLAD album, the Alchemist and Stratego

I expected to find Hell On Earth on top of a lot of peoples fave lists, and it's definitely a super great track, but I never understood why people consider it to be THAT outstanding. What is it that makes this song SO special for so many here?
A combination of the lyrics, the catchy chorus and the way it makes me feel. It's the only Maiden song that has made me shed a tear or two.
I was super excited for the Future Past tour, because SIT is my fav album and I was so excited during the show and then the encore came and I cried at every show, especially at the "love in anger, life in danger" part. I wasn't expecting that, although it was already my fav track off the SJ record.

Montségur as #1. Then pick two more from the following: Face In The Sand, For The Greater Good Of God, These Colors Don't Run, The Talisman and When the Wild Wind Blows because I just can't leave any of these out.

Can we see some reasons why, maybe?

1. Paschendale - absolute masterpiece, still holds its head high among all of Maiden's work. I've said it before but the music and lyrics are damn near perfectly blended, the intensifying music and words all coming to a horrible head. There's a Steve-ism in the lyrics that really annoys me but other than that, perfect, perfect, perfect.
2. Brighter Than a Thousand Suns - same thing, you can see the explosion in your mind. Mournful in all the right ways. Someone should use Oppenheimer and make a music video, really.
3. The Book of Souls - this one always grabbed me. A little rougher on the lyrics and Bruce has to race to get the words out, and maybe it's the nostalgia for seeing TBOS tour as much as I did, but yeah, a true masterpiece. Janick's best contribution to Maiden overall, it's where his "style" of long songs truly paid off. Probably one of the reasons I find The Time Machine to be a little bit of a disappointment, I don't think we can go anywhere higher than TBOS for his epic style.

1. Dance Of Death
2. Dream Of Mirrors
3. Hell On Earth

This was really tough, there are so many great songs written in the last 25 years. Out Of The Silent Planet, For The Greater Good Of God, The Book Of Souls. Even a top 10 would be difficult, to be honest.

Edit for reasonings:

All three of those songs take you on a journey.

DoD has some of the Harris/Gers tropes (mostly the acoustic guitar intro), but it doesn't fall in the Legacy/Talisman/Time Machine niche. The lyrics might not be the most interesting or captivating, but they give Bruce the excuse to go ham with his story telling. The guitar melodies throughout are great and the solos brilliant. The reprise of the intro at the end of the song one of the better callbacks. Just a genuinely well written song.

DoM is one that I've always liked quite a bit, but it was never my favorite. This has changed in the last 5 or so years. It has steadily climbed my ranks, the RiR version in particular. The song takes its time to build up until we get the glorious "whoah" section towards the end. That part is pure Maiden magic and one of my favorite moments in Maiden's entire discography.

HoE is a modern classic and it's interesting to see how it instantly become so beloved for most of the fanbase. While the intro is a bit too long, and the outro entirely unnecessary in my opinion (really don't like the minute-long fade out), the rest of the song is stellar. So many of the melodies are fantastic and get stuck in your mind. The "love in anger" part is pure badassary. Say what you want about Steve's lyric writing but damn can that man write amazing melodies.

I always remember a YouTube comment about TBOS which said something along the lines of ‘the last 2 minutes of this song is more metal than any young band could hope to achieve’. I have to agree. The way it builds and layers is outstanding.
