RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2025 Tour Thread *SPOILERS INSIDE*

He's a non-presence, which is what was expected since the announcement.
I disagree. He was constantly on the screens, front and center behind Bruce and they acknowledged him multiple times.

Sorry to say that Im happy I sold my tickets. This has to be the most overhyped yet most dissapointing setlist ever. And 3 epics is just waste of time. Rime is more than enough. Instead of 7th son,FoTD and Phantom we could have had rarely played hits like Infinite Dreams, Be Quick, Still Life, Sea of madness and No prayer for the dying. Oh well at least I can listen to Raphael Mendes and his band playing the deep cuts lol. This is just my opinion Im happy for all of ya who likes this set!
Can't wait for you to regret this when they retire :devil2:

Prepare your pitch forks, but I genuinely believe Aces High to be a borderline unsingable song, even back in the 80s. The chorus is anthemic and Bruce soars, but the verses have always been an utter disaster.

I'm listening to bootlegs from the World Slavery Tour and even early in the tour that song has always been rough. Bruce strains like hell and barks rather than sings the lines. Even on good days it sounds like Blaze did on Bruce songs.

It's a legendary song, but imo it has never sounded good live. Hell, they recorded overdubs for the LAD version and that still ended up sounding rough as hell. It's pretty interesting how everyone and everything gets scrutinized to hell and back, but for whatever reason the various Aces High versions seem to get a pass by the fandom.
The Flight 666 version is the best imo. Bruce sounds actually good.

After my first summery (positiv: Killers was played; negativ: Killers was the deepest cut (IMO)) I would complement one or two leather jacket songs would have done the set good. So, more leather jacket, less war.

While you're not exactly wrong, I think having it as the opener offsets that to some extent. Sure, the performance wasn’t flawless like the studio version, but imo it was pretty solid, especially in 2008 and 2018 (1999 a bit behind, mostly because it was played too fast). The chaos and energy it unleashed at the start of the show made it so that most people weren’t even focused on how it was being sung until that anthemic chorus kicked in which, honestly, would be one of the best Maiden things to experience live. When it’s placed in the encore, or worse, as the closer, it loses that magic and the weaker performance becomes a lot more noticeable (on top of being actually performed worse).

That doesn't meaningfully change my feelings on the song. Of course it sounds even worse in the encore, but that doesn't make me happier with it as an opener, since the vocals always sounded rough in that spot as well, to me.

The energy is definitely there, not disputing that. To me it's purely about the vocals.

It's insane to say that this setlist is lame. I think that's only valid to say that about the encore. Another thing: the band is known for not taking many risks when putting together setlists. So anyone who expected songs that had never been played before doesn't really know the band. Im sorry if that sounds rude, but its not.

ATG last tour was an exception only because the online appeal was massive, something that didn't happen to the same extent with RFYL.

As one of the people saying for years that Maiden needed to modernise their stage set, particularly after the embarrassing LOTB V.2 debacle (the silly looking inflatable pagodas or the 10 minute changeover between themes as an example) I am mostly happy with the new stage.

That being said, I always assumed they'd retain some of the physical props and effects, such as the Big Eddie. I didn't expect them to go full CGI and a part of me is going to miss the kitsch element of yesteryear.
I have a feeling that physical props and inflatables didn't look good against the high def screen. Instead of blending together to create a seamless illusion, they probably clashed and broke it.
