Is Maynard James Keenan hated? He strikes me as shy artsy-fartsy guy but I don't remember people ganged on him due to his personality or music decisions. Huge Tool following is weird, but I don't think it has to do with Keenan personaly.

Yeah, I feel like there's a big difference between being a douchebag (side note, I've always hated this term) and being flat-out criminal like a murderer or having sex with teenagers so this list feels a little skewed.

Anyway, my vote would be Gene Simmons for having his head rammed firmly up his own arse for nigh-on 50 years, with honourable mentions to Liam Gallagher - the more unbearable Gallagher by far - and John Lennon, both for being pricks and spawning bands I'm sick of hearing about.
