So much for Nicko remaining a member of the band

Without the band LLC's operating agreement, we have no idea of the context around the removal of Nicko as a member. Usually operating agreements cover eventualities like a member's retirement or sets forth a process for expelling members. We have no idea who owns what of the company that is...

Why did Steve Harris fire Clive Burr ?

They should have used footnotes, obviously.

Was Fear of the Dark a crowd-pleaser in the 90's?

In my memory it was always popular but the Rock in Rio took it to another level. Also keep in mind there was a pretty substantial influx of new fans in those days as well so it was new to them.

    Iron Maiden's future

If we want to lean into optimism then let's celebrate what we've received. Around the time of Virtual XI I figured Maiden was just done. If a genie had granted me an Iron Maiden related wish in early 1999, I never would have had the audacity to wish for what actually came to pass. It's been...

Simon Dawson is the new drummer

While I think people are overreacting about Nicko's retirement, I will say that if Dave Murray retires it would be really hard for me to htink of it as "Maiden". And heck, I'm an Adrian fan.

Simon Dawson is the new drummer

Does Simon Phillips have any relationship with Maiden at all or is this just a forum thing?

Simon Dawson is the new drummer

I love Nicko and wish he could go on forever but replacing the drummer is by far the least disruptive thing that could happen here. Especially at the level at which these guys perform. Yes, there will be a difference in the sound but it's going to be relatively plug and play for virtually...

Simon Dawson is the new drummer

I'm deeply amused by the cries of "nepotism!" when the guy hires the person with whom he has worked professionally for a decade vs the nephew.

Simon Dawson is the new drummer

If I can live through seeing the mighty Iron Maiden play the 800 capacity Birch Hill Nightclub in Old Bridge New Jersey in 1994 a mere 6 years after the glorious Seventh Tour of a Seventh Tour with some guy named Blaze Bailey, I assure you all we will get through Nicko's retirement.

Put your initial thought after your first listen to the Senjutsu album to one sentence please.

I found Writing on the Wall really cool and interesting and was hoping the rest of the album would also explore new sonic territory but the other tracks were all pretty standard recent Maiden fare. Good, but not super interesting.

Adrian, Janick and Dave's guitars and Steve's basses

He played it almost exclusively in Vegas the night before.

Adrian, Janick and Dave's guitars and Steve's basses

I know he doesn't play it any more but the Adrian Lado Earth has to be on the list. Hugely prized by Maidenhead guitar players. Also, I know it's supposedly the same instrument but the Blue Sparkle bass is just as iconic. Basically all the Live After Death guitars.

Saw this on reddit. Adrian's Jackson with the 2 Minutes to Midnight artwork.

Those that have been to 10 or more Maiden gigs

Like the dude in Flight 666 after the concert. Dude gets it.
