    Kevin Shirley’s production of Senjutsu

My only gripe with the sound of this album is the same as the previous two- the toms sound flat and boring. It really does a disservice to the title track in particular with what Nicko is playing. Listening with quality headphones eases the problems a bit, but in my car stereo (which isn't bad)...

Tournament of Maiden Solos: the Top 10 video!

I went with Paschendale and Powerslave. I really love Janick's solo in Fear of the Dark, but I prefer his various live versions.

The Book Of Souls (song not album)

It's my favourite song on the album and it has entered my favourite Maiden songs of all time list. It is full of power and atmosphere, as well as damn good performances from everyone. I was blown away by it when I first heard it and that feeling has not gone away. I can't wait to hear this...

Got my Toronto tickets from the Facebook pre sale!!! So happy and excited. I thought I was going to have to wait until the general public on sale tomorrow.

    Your First Iron Maiden Album/Experience?

In 2004 when I first got into metal a friend let me rip Edward the Great. I really liked all the songs and was definitely intrigued. The first album I bought was Rock in Rio and I listened to the hell out of it (and still do)! So much so that I take those live versions of the Brave New World...

    Your Maiden blasphemy

I like that they release as many live albums/dvds as they do and to be honest if they released more (for the history tours for example) I would be totally cool with it. Their songs always come alive on stage so I love getting as much live footage and recordings as I can.

    The Red And The Black

I was very pleasantly surprised with this song. It, like many other songs on this album, is very energetic. It feels different than any of Steve's other epics in quite some time. The melodies, harmonies, lead guitar work and vocals are very upbeat and catchy. The instrumental section has so much...

    Speed Of Light

I will definitely have to check this movie out! As for the song, I think it is definitely one of the very best rockers of the reunion era. The song has so much energy and it has a fun vibe to it. It's hard to say that it is one of the best songs on the album when the whole thing is so good but...

    If Eternity Should Fail

The more I listen to this song the more I feel it has become one of my favourite all time Maiden songs. Every little thing about this song feels perfect to me.

Tournament of Maiden Solos: the Top 10 video!

Not surprised to see Caught Somewhere in Time take a huge (and deserving) lead. I voted for that one and Lord of the Flies. I really love Ides of March and Still Life but the melody in Janick's solo is so powerful.

Tournament of Maiden Solos: the Top 10 video!

This time I only cast one vote (which was to 2AM. Such a beautiful and melodic solo). Wasted Years and The Clairvoyant are a tie for me and I can't bring myself to choose one over the other.

    Your Maiden blasphemy

The Duellists is currently one of my all time favourite Maiden tracks. The guitar and bass work is top notch! On top of great vocals and a nice groove.

    Your Maiden blasphemy

I listened to The Apparition yesterday and I don't really see why so many people dislike it. I certainly take it over Chains of Misery, Weekend Warrior and From Here to Eternity.

I Won A Bunch of Maiden Vinyl

I didn't know that. Interesting and good to know. Thanks!
