Maiden would be like Saxon, if there was no Eddie (the gimmick) and Rod. You need many things to go your way to become a huge band/artist. The music is always the most important thing, but you don't become huge without gimmicks or a manager who knows what to do. That applies to Alice Cooper in...
I rated the whole Maiden discography a month or 2 ago. So, this is my top 40:
1. Revelations
2. Caught Somewhere in Time
3. Wasted Years
4. Hallowed Be Thy Name
5. Powerslave
6. Still Life
7. Moonchild
8. 22 Acacia Avenue
9. Rime of the Ancient Mariner
10. Hell on Earth
11. Stranger in a...
The best Maiden albums are closer musically to the Ghost albums than to Senjutsu,BoS, TFF etc, if I'm being honest. Wasted Years (with other lyrics) could be a Ghost song, or the Evil That Men Do, CIPWM etc
I like Ghost in general, not my favourite or close to being that, but I don't understand the hate. Far worse bands are considered classic nowadays, like Motley Crue.
Ι personally don't shit on Maiden. I shit on their tour production and the screens that are not that impressive in 2025. I wish they kept it original with physical props and backdrops. Now, with screens, comparisons are inevitable. We have to acknowledge that Maiden production in a bit...
Now, that Maiden switched to screens, comparisons with other bands is inevitable. Ghost and many other bands do it better. We have to acknowledge that.
It was not really the same sort of thing. Legacy had the Revelations background, a cross, a plane prop, a flamethrower etc. These things can't be replaced by a screen. Bruce didn't even fight Eddie this time around.
1. Number: didn't work at all
2. ROTAM : full on AI shite (at list in WaldBuehne with a smaller screen, it didn't distract me as much)
3. Iron Maiden : I need my physical big Eddie
4. Phantom : That's a regular backdrop, but so lame
5. Aces High : Now, this is an unpopular opinion, but this...
Yeah these 2 were perfect (probably the best 2). The Murders backdrop was also good, the Seventh Son and Clairvoyant backdrops were great. I also liked the Hallowed "minigame", but not the backdrop in the beginning of the song.
Yeah, that worked really well for Powerslave and Seventh Son...
The screens looked good for some songs and looked shite for some other songs. Sometimes they were like "digital backdrops" and it worked. Now that they got the big screens, they have to combine them with physical props to top the Legacy tour. Just the screens won't be enough. Also, I hope they...
1. Iron Maiden

10. Hallowed be thy Name

A PIECE OF LIFE AND DEATH WORLD TOUR.
(Based on Piece of Mind and the first 3 reunion albums. I thought that on RFYL tour they didn't focus on POM at all and also they have to return to the early reunion albums soon. So this is the next Maiden tour)
1. The Wicker Man
2. Ghost of the Navigator
3...
Maybe they'll tour every year from now on until they stop. Makes sense, because every year now they're getting closer to retirement. They can't really put off things. IF they have ideas and they want to tour, they should now.
