Dave Murray talks about his 1957 Fender Stratocaster (short article)

All the pictures from the second half of the World Slavery Tour, Somewhere on Tour, the Seventh Tour, and in retirement all show it with vintage Fender "Pat Pend" stamped saddles. There are pics of it with brass saddles, but those are from an earlier time, I believe Beast on the Road era.

Dave Murray talks about his 1957 Fender Stratocaster (short article)

After the Rockinger system was removed mid World Slavery Tour, the original Fender synchronized tremolo was reinstalled. There were no further changes made to the guitar.

It is a Rockinger lock on the headstock.

Adrian, Janick and Dave's guitars and Steve's basses

That guitar is far from an ESP custom shop one-off. It is a partscaster of dubious origin.

Dave Murray talks about his 1957 Fender Stratocaster (short article)

The Kossoff strat never had a Kahler, but it did have a Rockinger system installed for the first part of the World Slavery Tour. It was removed before the tour ended. The headstock still shows the holes drilled for the locking nut. The installation of a Kahler requires extensive routing of the...

First hand accounts or stories about 2008's Heaven Can Wait crowd participation contest(?).

I wasn’t on stage, but was in the audience for their 2008 show in Concord, CA. Bruce got flashed by a very well endowed woman during the chanting section. See 4:25 in this video:

Would a Firebird bridge pickup be visually different from the equivalent from an LP Deluxe? I know the internals are totally different, but I always thought they looked identical externally.

Adrian, Janick and Dave's guitars and Steve's basses

I think there are some substantial issues regarding the provenance of this guitar. If the handwritten note from Mr. Murray could be authenticated in some way, I would believe it, but in the absence of that: It is described as a 1962 strat. However, its serial number of L20508 would date the...

For a made in Mexico model with an FR1000, I think these are actually pretty expensive. The new Dave model is over $500 more than the previous MIM signature model, and there is nothing in the specs that would justify the increase the price.

The Kossoff strat had its Fender synchronized tremolo installed for its entire stint with Dave from 1978 or so when it was purchased until it was retired in 1988. The only noted exception to this is a few months in the early World Slavery Tour where it had a Rockinger system installed.

Why would the 2009 signature production strat have a Floyd Rose? It was meant to be a close replica of his Kossoff strat, which never had a Floyd Rose installed.

Here is the Kossoff strat with what looks to be some weird aftermarket bridge saddles in early 80's.
