Sanctuary -- But I still like the song
Drifter
Gangland -- But I don't mind the song that much
Quest for Fire
Back in the Village
Deja Vu
Only the Good Die Young -- Once again, I like the song
Hooks in You (I can't believe they ever played this crappy song live)
Wasting Love (Torturous and once...
I was in a used record store about a year ago. I saw a used DVD that had a live recording of the AMOLAD tour. It had a black and white cover with a picture of Bruce front and center. I think it was called From the Vault: Live from Milan 2006. I assumed it was an official recording but it...
By "good" I mean sound quality. The B-sides with live singles have terrible sound quality. The bootleg I have of the concert isn't much better sounding either. All of them sound like they were recorded on a Walkman then transferred to CD. I'd like to get something with some better sound...
I'd want an album that really has few/no good live recordings. To me Somewhere in Time is the best album that is the least represented live. Somewhere in Time, Stranger in a Stranger Land, The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner and even Alexander the Great need to be heard live.
Second...
I'd like to have a live album (or collection) with the following songs done live (w/Bruce).
1. Iron Maiden -- Charlotte the Harlot
2. Killers -- Prodigal Son
3. No. of the Beast -- Invaders
4. Piece of Mind -- none
5. Powerslave -- Flash of the Blade
6. Somewhere in Time -- Somewhere...
As for EotC, I think you can substitute the orchestra with an electric violin... I doubt Maiden would add a player for song, so if Adrian, Dave or Jannick could play it then the possibly of hearing it would greatly increase. However, Maiden did add a keyboardist for the song 7th son of a 7th...
Sorry but no. It's something I heard or read about a long time ago (mid 90's) after Bruce left Maiden to pursue his solo career. The article also talked about how the original Tears of a Dragon was rejected from the SIT album and Bruce was generally unhappy at that time because all his song...
I doubt Iron Maiden will ever let their audiences select what songs comprise their setlists like Metallica did a little while back. However, say Iron Maiden wanted to play a song that was never played live before and allowed "all" their fans to vote for one of the following five songs. Which...
I don't think you'll ever hear Sea of Madness played live. Midway through the Somewhere in Time tour Bruce proclaimed his distaste for the song and they dropped it from the setlist.
I see some discussion of setlists in this thread and I thought I'd add my stab at it before the tour starts.
The previous tour listed the following songs in the setlist.
1. If Eternity Should Fail
2. Speed of Light
3. Children of the Damned *
4. Tears of the Clown *
5. The Red and the...
Any idea why they are playing a lot of the same major North American cities instead of hitting more of the ones they missed last time around? I was really hoping they'd do Cleveland, Cincinnati or Pittsburgh this time around. I thought Cleveland was a favorite place for them to play?
It's been about 25 years since I've since the Holy Smoke video, but I remember the band playing toy guitars in kiddy pools with some young children in the video. As for metal music this album is really tame and much closer to a mainstream rock band's output than earlier Maiden albums...
I never thought Maiden England '88 would be re-released in 2013 on DVD/CD some 25 years after it was recorded...so maybe it'll hit the markets in 2032. The biggest thing working against an AMOLAD release (in the near future) is En Vivo...despite having almost completely different setlists...
For me, No Prayer for the Dying was a huge let-down when it was released. Seventh Son was such a strong album and there was such a long wait for this album. Bruce's solo album Tattooed Millionaire had a big impact on the style of this album. With his solo album, I felt Bruce went a completely...
I'll limit myself to 18 songs, which is a likely maximum for an Iron Maiden concert. I'm also more interested in songs that I haven't heard played live in some form or another, or if I have heard them live they weren't very good renditions.
1. Caught Somewhere in Time
2. Flash of the Blade...
