Does anyone know the current pickup configuration of Davey’s black HSH Custom Shop with the ’70s-style headstock? I remember he’s used a Jazz, a JB, and an Alternative 8 at different times…
I found this 500-page document, and in it he talks about his red and white Jackson guitars and their pickups. I have no idea where that information comes from.
According to the same author, his red ’90s Fender with a Floyd Rose had a custom-wound DiMarzio in the bridge
For NPFTD, (sorry about the quality) you can see that only a few ESPs and the CAR Jackson were used.
For the recording of TXF, Dave had a Hot Rails pickguard installed for the first time on one of his cream Strats

If I were you, I’d go for a Fender Player Series in CAR (about $500 used). The HSH routs are already there, so all you’ll need to do is install a Floyd, swap the pickups, and change the hardware. And if you really care about the logo, it’ll cost you less to replace it than to repaint the whole...
