I love that era (it is my favourite and the 4 SBIT shows I went to in 2008 are some of the best gigs I have ever been to) but I dread to think how Rime of the Ancient Mariner could sound like live in 2025.
That’s impressive! I take my hat off to you long distance runners.
I did my last run before going on holiday today (5.21 km in 22 minutes; my original intention was to run a bit more, but then I remembered that I have basketball practice this evening with people who could be my children :lol...
That is true (I remember a live video of Rob Dickinson telling the story at one of his acoustic shows), but I have also heard that Bruce went to Janick’s house to show him the song and that Jan told him how the riff could go, in a different way to Bruce’s original idea.
He could name the tour The Ego has Landed and create a lightning rig in the shape of him, Bruce himself.
Credit goes to Saxon for the original concept.
They had to buy Bruce out of his contract and, according to Bruce and Rod, this was done once they had earned enough money to do so in 1982. I believe Bruce had to repay that money to Sanctuary over the years.
Also, I thought everyone knew Steve Harris is a big fan of The Hu. In fact, the scream on The Number of the Beast is inspired by one of their songs: Won’t Get Fooled Again.
Whilst I would also choose a line-up like the one on the current Judas Priest tour, Maiden have probably added The Hu as a way of shifting a good amount of tickets to people who would not have bought them just to see Iron Maiden with The Raven Age.
