    DRUNK POSTING

I've got a pretty pleasant but strong buzz right now. I generally avoid the political threads because I know what I believe but I understand that this topic has become sadly tribal and it's no longer a dialogue / debate it's either echo chambers or people yelling at each other. No thank you. I...

Maiden really buried the lead — DoD is as good as any post-reunion Maiden album

Yes for my tastes Rainmaker, title track and Montsegur are the true gems from this album. Also really enjoy Gates of Tomorrow, New Frontier and Paschendale. I’ve never had any problems with this album the cover is hideous but I generally don’t care about that.

I’ve never listened to this album

I like this album. It starts off blazing (pun intended) with hyper catchy short rocker Futureal. The next song Angel and the Gambler gets strong reactions across the board but for me it’s basically a catchy rocker with unfortunate repetition of the chorus. Lightning Strikes Twice and The...

    The album ages well

I place it in the middle of the pack in my album ranking. I absolutely love The Great Unknown and especially The Red and the Black (despite the plodding first 4:30) and the title track, while also appreciating IESF and Shadows of the Valley. Most of the rest I tend to skip based on placement...

Iron Maiden's management: What went wrong?

Growing up in New Jersey listening to the New York classic rock radio stations, they almost never played Maiden despite playing other metal bands like Ozzy / Sabbath, Scorpions, Priest, etc. On the other hand I clearly recall MTV playing the videos for Run to the Hills, Wasted Years, Stranger...

Iron Maiden's management: What went wrong?

I guess I'm on Team Proggie since Rush, Yes and Maiden are my three favorite bands. Although to take your example further I also love Zeppelin and U2.

    The Future Past Tour 2024

I like that idea, although by the same logic I'd squeeze in Death of the Celts and/or Time Machine (not played on LOTB tour).

Seventh Son of a Seventh Son

On a certain level the latter part of this song reminds me of parts of Gates of Delirium by Yes. In a good way.

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

For the albums on this RFYL tour? Loneliness would probably be my first choice. Although I think Sun and Steel would be a rousing crown pleaser live. And on a personal note, I would go nuts if they shocked everyone and did Burning Ambition. Having said that, most of my favorite unplayed live...

My NJ Devils blanked our arch-rivals the NY Rangers 4-0 this afternoon. Always a pleasure for Devils fans. Going back to the playoffs after some time in the wilderness. After struggling a bit coming back from a serious injury, Jacob Markstrom is back in peak form. (Thank you Jake Allen for...

    Brave New World - Album

That is my take as well. I like every song on the album, no 'skip' songs. The sound is excellent and I appreciate the historical context. But no BNW songs would rank in my top 20 IM songs.
