Did anyone listen to the samples on the amazon.com site? Unless these are REALLY poor quality, they don't even sound like real string instruments--just some dude using Midi. Which is lame as hell to pass off as a "string tribute."

Absolutely. It took me a second to figure it out the first time I heard it, but it's almost identical, aside from a couple of notes. I'm kind of surprised noone in the band picked up on this and thought, hmmm... maybe this a little TOO close. Ha, sounds like you and me are in the minority on...

Re: Satellite 15....The Final Frontier Based on previous interviews with Adrian, he often demos Maiden material using a drum machine to give rhythmic ideas, so yeah, it's definitely the case here. Instead of wasting the time re-recording it, Steve felt the demo had a cool vibe to it already...

I partly agree, but I think he more than makes up for it during the chorus... he's belting that out big time. In fact, I'd say it's one of the stronger Maiden choruses PERIOD. For my money, it's better than any chorus off of the previous 2 albums.

Anyone else hear a bit of John Arch-era Fates Warning in the chorus? Not a bad thing at all--in fact, quite the opposite!

I do think the chorus is almost too similar to Infinite Dreams (especially the bluesy guitar licks going on in the background), but that's a minor gripe... I can think of worse things than having material reminiscent of that classic album :) .
