Eh, I have a feeling Rod can be very, very persuasive.I'm reading people's comments and scratching my head a little over this:
"Ah found an interview with Arjen that explains what happened:

Just thinking aloud here, because the "Bruce's manager cancelled it" explanation seems a little too simple to me.
Rod's reluctance to work with Dio's wife (aka his manager) is the reason we didn't get a Dio/Halford/Dickinson trio for Tyranny of Souls (the song) so I think anything's possible.

As opposed to the charitable Rod Largewallet.Hmm, maybe Rod sensed in Wendy Dio a powerful money-grabbing witch - a true and formidable rival who could create problems further down the line.![]()
Well, sounds differentThere was no remaking or re-recording on MBTP, they only added new layers of sound on top of the original. In a lot of cases I think it enhanced the original recording, but I can see why others might disagree.
I find the video clips idea quite tasteless. A 68 yrs old guy miming to recordings he did 30 years ago? It´s actually ridiculous. Also there are no musicians that recorded the album present in the videos. Tasteless, ridiculous and honestly quite dumb.
The voice sounds softer, verything sounds more softer i like the sound of the album how it was recorded. I say remake because i dont know another word remaster? Adding parts,ok. He can do whatever he wants of course but about tears of the dragon i prefer the song recorded in the cd in 1994 and i prefer the video because the video was indeed a great video. Way better in my opinion than the new one.For clarity re remaking Balls, the press release says they added new bits to some songs but no mention of re-recording full songs. So kind of a hybrid, not a full remake and not a simple remix
From the original press release on Maidens website....
Dickinson says of it, “While mixing all my catalogue into Dolby Atmos I had a nagging desire to revisit and reinvent the record. So putting more balls into ‘Balls…’ was a labour of love. Of course, we beefed up the guitars – courtesy of our ‘Swedish shredder’ Philip Naslund and we added some really beautiful work by Adassi Addasi on ‘Tears…’ as well. Fellow Brazilian composer Antonio Teoli added some stunning orchestral arrangements, and in a unique contribution, added indigenous instruments from the Amazon (recorded by himself when he lived there!) at the beginning of ‘Gods Of War’.
“‘Shoot All The Clowns’ gets the benefit of a horn section fronted by the Berklee College of Music, and all of the record gets the benefit of the mix by Brendan Duffey....
Or "Faceless Balls (Walls of Glory)"?
