Underworld > V > Divine Wings . Rest is passable for me.
Yes, I think Underworld is that good.

I find that Underworld successfully blends all the aspects of Symphony X's sound into one record better than the previous two albums. The relatively straightforward Paradise Lost had almost zero aspects of their former sound yet was still a solid album overall, whereas Iconoclast brought back the complexity of previous albums but lacked the melody and had very few highlights.

New 2004 bootleg uploads!

Man, do I remember those extended "she said's" at the end of Wicked. Those post-Odyssey shows were some of the best I've ever seen.

This guy has tons of SX stuff on his YouTube channel. God bless him for uploading!

Well, shit, looks like these will be the last dates we see for SX on this tour. Which means the last time we see SX for about 4-5 years...Enjoy it, East Coasters/Canadians!

Listening to Iconoclast three times today I realised how much I actually like the album and how underrated it is. True, it might be a bit hard to get into it, since the sound is rather... unified, but the title track, Children of a Faceless God and Heretic are amazing. So is End of Innocence, though it might be a bit of rehash of Set the World on Fire. When All Is Lost is so good (and forgotten!) - I play it now more often than each of the Accolades. I even like Dehumanized (there's something appealing about that switch to chorus and the chorus riff, or I don't know). Still have to get into Prometheus, though :D

The 2 CD version probably helps (I believe Romeo himself said it was supposed to be the official version) - just like with Book of Souls, you get a much needed break and the final track (one of the bonuses) is very nice.

He did. Unfortunately, two of the extra tracks are among the weakest the band has ever written.

Overall, I think Iconoclast is the band's weakest album save for the debut. And if Russell Allen sang on the debut, I'd probably rank it higher than Iconoclast. The album simply has very little soul -- and while I'm aware that may have been the band's intent, I still don't like my Symphony X sounding like that. It has some songs I love -- namely Heretic, Dehumanized, and Prometheus -- and some others that are good but seem "thrown together" or lack even decent lyrics (the title track, Reign in Madness).

I've never cared for When All Is Lost, outside of some of the instrumental bits. It lacks the complexity of their other ballads and has a sound that is simply too pedestrian for Symphony X. Interestingly, however, I prefer Without You and Swan Song to it.

Worst thing about SX has to be their setlists. The 3 year hiatuses between albums would be better if they came back with a more all encompassing setlist. Especially since they never formally toured on a lot of those earlier albums, most fans haven't heard that stuff live. It's cool that they play so much of the new album though.

Agreed. You would think that considering they've never played Australia before, they would want to pull out at least 2-3 older songs to represent one track from every album. Even if they played the most overplayed songs from each album (Dressed to Kill, Sins and Shadows, Smoke and Mirrors, Evolution, Inferno) it would at least feel like they were getting something special.

I've never seen DTK, Smoke and Mirrors, or Evolution, so I'd be very happy with that setlist.

Certainly not common setlist songs as of the last 10 years because they don't play any of those tunes anymore, but probably overall the most played from each album.

Didn't they play it at Pearl Room once? Anyway, I didn't do any research on that fact. I was just assuming. What do you think is the most played track off TDG?
