This is the "power metal" round.

Virgin Steele isn't that power metalish (but I can see why it is in this group). At least, that term alone would not do them justic since they usually incorporate more elements. They have a symphonic sound of there own which I could describe in length, but on this song, things are kept relatively simple (compared to lots of their other music) so I'll refrain from that. In fact, the style in Twilight of the Gods is for the most part not that different from the no nonsense work Maiden has done occasionally. It's very to the point, still with some subtle moments, and has good melodies. And David DeFeis is a fantastic vocalist.

Although they are both incredibly cheesy, and I won't be voting for them again if they make it through this round, the only songs I could listen to all the way through were Blind Guardian and Powerwolf.
 
I know I'm contributing to a tie, but BG and Strato songs are way above others... hopefully someone will break the it :D
 
BG: Great song. Knew this one already, one of the few power metal songs I really like (not just tolerate).
Labrynth: Kinda catchy, some cool riffs going on. Annoying vocals are keeping me from voting for this though. Usually I don't mind bad vocals but these were a little too much.
Powerwolf: Some cool stuff but pretty bland overall. There's nothing I can complain about with this song, but not really something I'd go for on my own.
Stratovarius: I've heard good things about Stratovarious and I was very impressed. It has all the power metal tropes that turn me off from the genre as a whole, but it makes up for that with some great playing, singing, and some nice hooks. Loved the guitar/keyboard duels in there, kinda reminiscent of Symphony X. I liked the way it switched between straight 16ths and a more steady rhythm. Easily the best so far, besides the BG.
Virgin Steele: Agreed with Foro that this is a bit more than your average power metal, though this song is a bit of a mess. Wtf is that singer doing? Awful. Also, I feel like I've heard that riff before. Something from Dio maybe? Either way, the whole thing just sounds kinda generic. I've heard this song before. Meh.

Anyway, went with just BG to break the tie, but Strato is a very close second. All the other songs were bland and forgettable.
