Songs
You're gonna think I'm crazy, but the game will feature 200 short songs.
Reason for that high number is the fact that I got 800 suggestions and cut as much as I could.
Also, take into account that it's 200 short songs, and most of the songs are quite well known on the forum.
In terms of length, songs that last up to 3:59 comprise 36.5% of the list, 4:00-4:29 - 34%, 4:30-4:59 - 29.5%.
So I'd say it's evenly spread.
Format
Phase 1: 200 songs will be divided into 40 5-song groups. Each group will have 1 winner.
Phase 2: 40 winners are divided into 8 5-song groups. Each group will have 2 winners.
Phase 3: 16 winners will determine the final one, using a knockout system.
Phase 4: Final 8 from Phase 3 will face Maiden's Top 8 short songs, their ranking determined by the ranking of all songs from the Commentary Forum.
Rounds
Each round will last for 10 days in Phase 1, and 3 to 7 days in later phases. New rounds will be posted every 2 to 4 days.
Even though each round will have only one winner, you'll vote for your 2 favorites.
Draw for the groups was semi-random - some groups are genre-based, some groups are mixed, and IMO all genres will have a chance.
As in the Instrumentals game, I'll post YouTube links for each song.
