The Post Your Own Music Thread

Been in a chiptune (video game music) phase lately and wanted to try making something myself. I read an article online about someone re-scoring Star Wars with his own music as an exercise and I thought that was a great idea, so I decided to do something similar with the original Super Mario Bros, hence the samples.
 
I have a couple of years of years old recording on soundcloud which is inspired by Maiden, think "The Talisman" and "Out of the Silent Planet" made just for fun for with a friend. The drums were recorded by putting a cheap microphone in front of the drumkit but I belive that it sounds quite interesting. :p

And a cover of the"Top Gun Anthem" from the movie "Top Gun" is on there as well.
 
I really dig the lead work.

EDIT: Btw, I dig the rest of it too! I just listened to it twice through. Very nice. I'm very impressed. Is all the guitar work you?

Thanks! The first solo after the 2nd chorus is by my brother, the rest is me.

Cool song, really like the vocals. Is there an editing mistake in the beginning or is it supposed to be like that? "Before you hit the ground" cuts off rather abrubtly.
