Senjutsu tour 2021-2022

If Maiden had toured Senjutsu during these years instead of Legacy and TFP tour, what do you think the setlist would have looked like?

Here’s mine. It is put together based on comments from the band over the last few years. It’s not adventurous, but I think it is realistic.

  1. Senjutsu
  2. Stratego
  3. The Writing on the Wall
  4. Stranger in a Strange Land
  5. The Trooper
  6. The Time Machine
  7. The Prisoner
  8. Death of the Celts
  9. Can I Play with Madness?
  10. Alexander the Great
  11. Fear of the Dark
  12. Iron Maiden
  13. Hell on Earth
  14. Blood Brothers
  15. Running Free

I know it has been floated around before, but I think the idea that Alexander the Great and Stranger in a Strange Land are brought back on a "normal" Senjutsu tour is pure fan fiction. I think Future Past happened because of the pandemic and probably would not have been seriously considered if Maiden didn't feel the need to have a fan service component to justify a tour promoting a 2 year old album.

I think we would have got something like this:

1: Senjutsu
2: Stratego
3: Writing On the Wall
4: Can I Play With Madness?
5: The Time Machine
6: Death of the Celts
7: The Prisoner
8: The Trooper
9: Hell On Earth
10: Fear of the Dark
11: Hallowed Be Thy Name
12: Iron Maiden
13: The Number of the Beast
14: Blood Brothers
15: Running Free

The last 6 songs… I’m glad we didn’t get that.

1.Senjutsu
2.Stratego
3.The Writing On The Wall
4.The Prisoner
5.Killers (instead of Wrathchild)
6.The Time Machine
7.Stranger In A Strange Land
8.Sun And Steel
9.The Parchment
10.Brave New World
11.Fear Of The Dark
12.Iron Maiden
Encore:
13.Hell On Earth
14.The Trooper
15.Hallowed Be Thy Name

I would loved such a setlist. It may seem a little adventurous (even after the LOTB tour), but I had in mind some comments from Bruce, who is now mostly responsible for the sets.

Well, their options for another History/Hits tour were (are) not much, so I think we probably would have gotten a SIT based tour after the original SJ tour.

That would have been an incredible set list.

Taking in consideration the Book of Souls and Final Frontier tours and also the songs they chose to play off Senjutsu in LotB and Future Past tours, it would be something like this:
1. Senjutsu
2. Stratego
3. 2 Minutes to Midnight
4. Wrathchild
5. The Time Machine
6. Death of the Celts
7. The Number of the Beast
8. Blood Brothers
9. Alexander the Great ( I think this was the reason they did the FP tour)
10. Fear of the Dark
11. Hell on Earth
12. Iron Maiden
Encore
13. The Writing on the wall
14. The Trooper
15. Hallowed be thy Name
We are all so lucky they did the FP tour instead.

Why some people think they would have played Sun and Steel? It was also considered a lot during Future Past speculation, but come on. Yes, it has samurai theme, but by that logic they should have played Out of the Silent Planet or To Tame a Land during Final Frontier tour, Mother Russia (empires falling) during Book of Souls tour and so on and so on. But, okay, it's free opinion.
What I imagine, the Senjutsu tour setlist would have been is something like this

1. Senjutsu
2. Stratego
3. Brave New World
4. The Writing on the Wall
5. The Prisoner
6. Death of the Celts
7. The Trooper
8. The Time Machine
9. The Number of the Beast
10. Hell on Earth
11. Fear of the Dark
12. Iron Maiden
Encore
13. Days of Future Past
14. Can I Play with Madness
15. Hallowed be thy Name

1. Senjutsu
2. Stratego
3. 2 Minutes To Midnight
4. Writing On The Wall
5. Days of Future Past
6. Stranger In A Strange Land
7. The Prisoner
8. The Time Machine
9. Can I Play With Madness?
10. Death of the Celts
11. H*ll On Earth
12. Fear of the Dark
13. Iron Maiden
14. The Number of the Beast
15. The Trooper
16. Hallowed Be Thy Name

Probably pretty realistic, all the Senjutsu songs they played last year and the year before (in fact, only one song which they haven´t played the last two years), a couple of deep cuts which both are in the Future Past set anyway, and hits + mixing them so there is a decent flow throughout the show.. maybe should have shaved one of them to make it 15 or given the spot of Madness to Evil but hey, Maiden should have played Alexander already in the 80s!
