[!--quoteo--][div class=\'quotetop\']QUOTE[/div][div class=\'quotemain\'][!--quotec--]IRON MAIDEN have confirmed the full European Leg of their World Tour for this coming Winter 2006.

The World Tour will start in Scandinavia on Nov 9 and response to the shows on sale there last week was phenomenal with ticket sales already exceeding 95,000 across the Scandinavian dates. All three of the Swedish shows sold out in just over an hour and a third date was immediately added at the Stockholm Globen which also sold out in hours making it 48,000 sold out in Sweden alone. The 8000 tickets in Bergen Norway went in just 30 minutes, Tempere sold all 6,600 tickets out in a couple of hours while Helsinki registered first day sales of over 17,000 tickets over their two shows.

The new live show will include new album material which the band are now recording and which will be released prior to the tour. They are currently considering album artwork and the Production for the tour, which of course will be in true Maiden tradition with spectacular stage production and massive sound and lights ... and, of course, Eddie!!

Says Steve Harris, "We've finished most of the writing of the album and have just started recording with Kevin Shirley so we're all very charged up at the moment to make a great record. Reaction to the tour so far has been brilliant and we're looking forward to putting a great show together for the fans and getting back out on the road towards the end of the year and playing new material live "

Maiden have invited the critically acclaimed American band TRIVIUM to be their Special Guests throughout the tour. Trivium have enjoyed ever increasing recognition these last few months and Maiden are sure that their fans will give them a great reception.

This European leg of the World Tour will be followed in early 2007 with selected dates in other parts of the World.

For the dates in the UK there is an exclusive 5 day special advance ticket ordering access for fan club members. There will be a special link in the Tour date area of the website and advance tickets for fan club go on sale on Friday 10th March at 9am in the UK and 9am Wednesday 22nd March for Dublin. After that tickets to the General Public for the UK shows will go on sale Friday 17th March at 9am, and on sale 9am Saturday 25th March for Dublin. For more information watch this site.

See you in Dublin hunny /tongue.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":p\" border=\"0\" alt=\"tongue.gif\" /] I won't be too happy with Trivium but I suppose they're better than Marilyn Manson /happy.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"^_^\" border=\"0\" alt=\"happy.gif\" /] You will be able to get your tickets three days before me I'm guessing. I hope this doesn't make too much of a difference.

Does anybody knows when we can buy the tickets for the new dates?

Yep, FC privilleges /biggrin.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":D\" border=\"0\" alt=\"biggrin.gif\" /] gotta love em! Manson was dire last year, and he even hit my friend in the head with a bottle full of water. Such respect for the fans :: (well he wasn't a fan, but still)

Well, at the start of his set someone threw a bottle at him so he was levelling the score between the crowd and himself. I wonder where you could find me at the Maiden concert...

It wasn't just a bottle that was thrown at him, it was a shoe, a potato (I think) and various paraphanelia. Needless to say I would have quite enjoyed his performance, if you take out the music and him taking his pants down and just had stuff being thrown at him.

Thanks for that Hunlord. I'll be at Glasgow watching my two favourite bands.

And *no*, I'm *not* about to start a *disgusting* *whining* thread on the subject.

Sat 2 ITALY, Milan DatchForum (Tickets on sale 17th March)

Tue 5 SWITZERLAND, Zurich Hallenstadion (Tickets on sale 18th March)

Super, I live 2 hours from Milan and 2 hours from Zürich, so I will make both

I'm pretty sure that some dates will be added (there's apparently enough room for that). Maiden can't completely ignore all of Eastern Europe, where they have a solid fanbase. Venues like Warsaw or Prague should be on the list.

'tis true, especially since Scandinavia is represented way out of proportion. Three dates in Finland and four in Sweden? I'm sure their plan of "playing Europe this year, rest of the world next year" won't work out that way. They will have to add some venues in Europe, and not only East Europe.

I'll be at Earl's Court! /smile.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":)\" border=\"0\" alt=\"smile.gif\" /]

Me too! With some luck, I'll be at the Newcastle gig too. /smile.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":)\" border=\"0\" alt=\"smile.gif\" /]

Awww right.....
(giggidygiggidygiggidy)
9 months....too long.....
and if Trivium try to be smart or funny and waste precious Maiden time I'm going to get their singer with a bottle to the head. Right between the eyes..... ::
Nah not really. But I don't like Trivium, so the first while of the show will be me being anti-social and commenting on how much better Maiden are /biggrin.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":D\" border=\"0\" alt=\"biggrin.gif\" /]
Now all we have to do is wait for the new album! Autumn, you say? Gahhh!!!!!!

Normally one would expect to add more dates, indeed. You named the reasons.

But this:

"The full European list of tour dates is"

and this:

"IRON MAIDEN have confirmed the full European Leg of their World Tour for this coming Winter 2006."

...makes me wonder. Why would they name it a FULL European list and a FULL European Leg, if more European dates would be added later?

Either no more European dates will follow (sorry Eastern Europe /sad.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":(\" border=\"0\" alt=\"sad.gif\" /] ), either the person who is responsible to use these words was not the smartest thinker. Let's hope that UNINTELLIGENT people work for Iron Maiden. /tongue.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":p\" border=\"0\" alt=\"tongue.gif\" /]

We'll see what happens.

...Or they could leave some dates until after the world tour. DId they not do that for the 2005 tour-playing in Dublin as the last date? And the fact that they say the 'full European Tour of WINTER 2006' may imply that other European dates will follow in 2007. Just my thoughts, and I am known to be wrong.
