Ideal Festival Line-Ups

Black Wizard

I'm carrying this over from a topic I brought up in chat: what is your ideal festival line-up?

Rules:

1. 3 day festival
2. One headliner per day
3. You can have eight bands per day.
4. Bands must be alive, so no Dio opening for Dio-era Black Sabbath!

You can also name your festival and decide on its location. Remember though that some bands aren't very big in some countres, so no Blind Guardian headlining in the UK!

Watch the dates - you can't have Iron Maiden playing in three cities on the same night!

Fine. Although we agreed that I can have a post-headliner band.

Not a chance, it's not Days of Thunder if it's anywhere else than there. There will be a Thunder Express airline return flight included in the ticket, though.

Ok, we're having a rule change. Five bands isn't enough so I'll go with Download 2013's example of having eight bands on the main stage on the first two days of the festival. This way we don't have to omit any awesome bands. :p

Bands must be alive. I can see that Dio does not fit the description but what about bands that stopped their group activity a while ago but which members are still alive, in other words could have a reunion performance in the ideal festival line-up?

But that's like saying: I want Maiden to play with Steve Harris on drums, Les Claypool on bass, Buckethead on third guitar instead of Janick, & Nicko & Janick on dancing & mime duties. You're making a mockery of this perfectly respectable BW thread! :p

If a reunion is possible then why not? FYI, a Sepultura line-up with Max Cavelera doesn't count because Andreas Kisser said he doesn't want a reunion. However, I think Pink Floyd would be fine because they have played special one-off shows recently, so I guess Led Zeppelin might count as well since they played at the O2 in London even though one of them is dead.
