Bruce's voice

That IS a coincidence, and a jolly good one at that.  Being from the states, it's unlikely that i'll never get to meet Garm.  Great voice though, and Ulver has gone from strength to strength on all their releases, imo.

I've always thought that on 'No Prayer', 'Fear of the Dark' and Tattoed Millionaire that it seemed like he was yelling sometimes, cutting off words (almost talking instead of singing).  And I feel that the first two mentioned above were my least favorite IM albums with Bruce at the helm.  When he came back with 'Brave', 'Dance' and 'Live and Death' he was "singing" again.

It seems like it worked the other way with Metallica, where James H. used to be less of a singer and was better then and now he's trying to hard to sing and I haven't listened to them since the Black album when it all started falling apart.

Actually, he started singing again on Balls To Picasso and just got better with Accident of Birth and Chemical Wedding. When he returned to Maiden in 1999 he was a well oiled machine.

His best voice (since 80s) is from 1996 Accident of birth album/tour to 2004 early days tour, but in 2003 dance of death tour and album he had some problems.

Since 2004 his voice is more strained, and i think he is never going to sing like this period again

...no  :)
The last two albums have been ridiculously good, i think flight666 sounded outstanding for a live show (and it harvested many young fans from how great it was) and on the 2010 tour he sounded great too. (the recent tour he sounded a bit tired by the time he got to the uk but what do we expect... they were still some kickass shows!!! :edmetal:

Hmmm, I'm going to have to strongly dissagree, Bruce's voice was so much better during the golden years, although it did lose it's quality during the "World Slavery Tour" and the "Somewhere on Tour" tour. You just can't compare his early performances of "Hallowed be Thy Name" and "The Trooper" with the later ones.

And I'm sorry to all you "Flight 666" lovers, but no way is he's voice better there than on the "Beast on the Road" tour, "World Piece Tour", the first half of the "World Slavery Tour" or the "Seventh Tour of a Seventh Tour".

All of the songs performed on the "Somewhere Back in Time" tour are no comparison to some of the stuff he sang back on the original tours.

Now, I'm not saying his voice is bad now, it's still the best voice to have ever existed, all I'm saying is that it was better back in the day, the only thing I can say that has improved, is that he is now able to maintain his voice better through the length of a tour than he previously was.

Thanks for all the apologies there Seventh Son. How can anyone be wrong in a thread like this? It's clearly a matter of preference so right or wrong is null and void. So your apologies are appreciated and accepted ;) Some people just prefer his voice these days. Deal with it.

I like how Bruce's voice has progressed with age, also how the Final Frontier had little effects on his voice so it sounded almost the same live compared to the studio. I enjoyed their Abbey Road performance because Bruce's voice had so much passion during songs like Hallowed Be Thy Name and Brighter Than a Thousand Suns.
