    Blaze Bayley, good or bad?

I like DOD. I find the melodies on AMOLAD & TFF incredibly dull and lifeless. I also think the solos on VXI clobber any on the last two albums, as I find very few of them memorable. I do wish Bruce would write more lyrics, as Starblind is incredible in that regard.

    Blaze Bayley, good or bad?

I like Blaze's voice but it tends to fall flat on the high notes. TXF & VXI are better than everything post-reunion sans BNW imo.

    The Ides of March

Maiden never fail when it comes to instrumentals. Clive is amazing, the guitars are insane, and Maiden are by far the greatest band at projecting imagery through their music. Don't know if there is a better marching song, in fact this is probably better than a lot of official ones. 9/10

    Twilight Zone

I probably like this song a lot more than it's overall quality deserves, so I find it hard to objectively rate it. I think it has one of Maiden's best 'rock' riffs, a cool rhythm and a nice chorus. The solo is also pretty decent, and the lyrics are better than a number of the songs that made it...

    Wrathchild

Maiden's definitive anthem imo. Vicious lyrics, a vicious rhythm, an anthem of a chorus. Not to mention the driving bass and kickass drums. Paul's voice doesn't match the passion of the song, but then again he never really has worked for me. 10/10

    Murders in the Rue Morgue

Great song. Maybe Maiden's most fun song, both lyrically and it's an easy sing-a-long. Guitars are amazing throughout the track, especially the intro. Paul does drag it down some for me, it's not his performance, I've just never felt his voice was powerful enough for Maiden. 9/10

    Killers

Has there ever been a better bass intro? Great lyrics and solid leads throughout. I guess I can't bitch too much about Paul being here since he co-wrote the song, but his lack of vocal power (imo) really brings the song down for me. I feel like I'd get more enjoyment from the song if it was...

    Purgatory

Used to love this one, because of it's accessibility, but after getting more into Maiden, it's charm has worn off. Fast and melodic, but the very definition of bland. Lyrics are shit. There is some nice playing under the "please, take me away" part but that's it. 5/10

    Another Life

Underrated tune. Love Clive's intro, and the guitars are solid throughout. The lyrics are good enough, but the song just doesn't have anything that special to offer. 7/10

    Innocent Exile

An ok song. Bland lyrics, but it's got a decent groove. Some cool soloing and the outro. Also like the part with the marching beat of the drums riding along with the guitars. 6/10

    Prodigal Son

The solo redeems this song somewhat, the rest of it makes it a sure candidate for worst song from the band. Weak or pretty much non-existent melodies, incredible boring guitars, boring lyrics, and Paul's boring voice drag it down. 5/10

    Genghis Khan

Another perfect instrumental from Maiden. Just like Transylvania, not a single second is wasted. The last minute is my favorite, with the amazing solo, but the intro is great too, fantastic drumming bursting into a great marching rhythm. 10/10

    Drifter

Possibly the worst Maiden song ever. There are other lackluster tunes, but this is boring, which Maiden rarely is. The first solo is certainly interesting, but there is hardly a memorable note to be found here. 4/10

    Strange World

Forgotten gem for sure. Beautiful melodies, amazing solos, and interesting lyrics. Song has great atmosphere. Not a masterpiece, but close enough. 9/10

    Remember Tomorrow

Beautiful melodies, lyrics filled with amazing imagery, and a monster of a riff, this song pretty much has it all. Not as much of a masterpiece as something like Phantom, but fantastic in it's own right. 9/10

    Phantom of the Opera

What more can you say about this one? It's the perfect song, possibly Maiden's greatest achievement. Brilliant lyrics, spellbinding melodies, the song just moves from one incredible passage to the next. Every riff and melody is stunning, and it once again proves Steve is the master of the bass...

    Transylvania

Amazing track, possibly the best on the debut. Amazing riffs, amazing solos, not a second wasted all throughout. An anthem without words. 10/10

    Prowler

This song was my first exposure to Maiden, when I listened to the one minute sample on Maiden's website eight years ago. Could already tell they were something amazing. I still love the opening riff and the wah-wah guitar part. Song has a great drive and a decent solo. With a more powerful...

    Running Free

Nice little classic. The riff is kickass, as are the lyrics, and the chorus is a rock anthem. Love the drums too. Only things I'm not too keen on are the simplistic guitars in the bridge and the piss poor production. 8/10
