The cult of H

____no5

Free Man
My metallic/ Maiden years can be separated in two periods : 1985-95 and 2000-now
During the first period I was part of a "real" metal community, you know metal cafés, groups, venues etc
During the second, well the community is here, an internet (Brave New World) community

In the first period I never noticed any worship phenomenon to H, but after 2000 this is more than obvious.....I dare to say, that as far as in Maidenfans.com, H is the most popular member of Iron Maiden

I numarated my conclusions in axiom-like sentences to make it more easier for everybody

1) H is far more popular after 2000 (amongst the fans of Maiden) than he was before 1989
2) the cult of H really started in September 2003 with the song Paschendale
3) "accident of birth" and "chemical wedding" helped the fans of Maiden to appreciate more the qualities of H
4) the 10 wasted years (1989-1999) in general, made the fans of Maiden to realise the enormity of the loss -which after 2000/ 2003 did became a cult
5) before 2000 the term H didn't exist

Conclusion: YOU wasted your Maiden years in this period, not "the maiden fans in general" and definitely not Maiden themselves.

Hell, The Iron Maiden Commentary started even in 1998 and I bet that there are a lot of fans on this forum who'd love to witness some of the 19(!) Iron Maiden songs of the nineties, that Adrian did not play.

I witnessed 13 out of those 19 songs in live concerts and I am very glad that I did. Most stuff from the eighties that I have missed has already been brought back to the stage and soon more will come ! For this reason I'd say that the nineties have something special.

The term H existed before 2000.

ok, you can think what you want, but what about the first 2 axioms ?

1) H is far more popular after 2000 (amongst the fans of Maiden) than he was before 1989
2) the cult of H really started in September 2003 with the song Paschendale

The "cult of H" on this specific forum started in 2004 - as I recall, it was early summer. Perun started a thread which quickly turned into the first "Adrian Smith Statements" thread. That thread has since been deleted from the database, but it is the source of much of the Scriptures. More detailed information can be found in this thread.

Could be, but difficult to judge since I didn't follow Maiden before 1989.

I did see Adrian play with Bruce in 1998 and I remember that it was very special. I had looked forward to seeing him play a lot.

It is actually quite bizarre to see this "Cult of H" thingy being carried on so avidly by people who haven't even witnessed how it all started.

They are just confused.

Needless to say Maidenfans hardly encompasses ALL maiden fans, thus Adrain's popularity after 2000 among Maiden or even Metal fans is hardly represented here.

People seem to keep missing the fact that it was all a Joke. I mean, we all know 'Arry is the One and True Lord. :D

No seriously, I haven't been on this forum for long but even I noticed that this whole H cult thing is a joke, or at the very least a compromise between all the various other churches of the other band members.

whoops !....here it happened something strange.....these below words of Perun semmed to me somehow cruel, and unfaire if you want with what I started, especialy this word 'avidly'....

....well, it was extraordinary what happened

but I have to make clear 2 things :

1) I didn't had idea that the cult of H was really existed in this forum, so
2) the title of the thread was a (strange enough) coisidence !!!

what I was trying to do, is clearify this general impression I have of the highly increasing popularity of H after 2000 /2003

this phenomenon I called it "the cult of H" and that is all!... if I knew the existance of the cult  I would have chosed another title, in order to avoid comfusion

...But it seems that the evil legeons of his guitar vibes really wanted me to discover His Holy Scriptures, so they lead my hand to type this particular title and not another, so the sequence of the posts could help me to discover His Holy Cult... Somewher in Time

Maybe it is an English language barrier that is confusing things here.    :smartarse:
No. 5, if you can find "the cult of H" outside this forum, the forum members personal sites ("Scriptures" is SMX's), I'd be happy to see it.

And everyone knows that all Maiden guitarists kick arse equally, except for mighty H who is more equal than others.  :P

I don't see any language barrier in my below words....

I have found a site for H I don't know if is of someone from here.......
But as I explained earlier this morning, "the cult of H" is just a title that describes the increasing popularity of H that 1) certainly exists and 2) certenly exists outside these forum "walls"

One year ago or so I promoted a Church of Dave Murray but I failed to recruit any disciple... :halo: <_<

That's enough everyone! Off to the madness forum with you!

In reply to no5, I didn't know that H was so popular outside of this forum. I thought you were just confused about the ongoing church of H joke thing on here.
