Free Man
My metallic/ Maiden years can be separated in two periods : 1985-95 and 2000-now
During the first period I was part of a "real" metal community, you know metal cafés, groups, venues etc
During the second, well the community is here, an internet (Brave New World) community
In the first period I never noticed any worship phenomenon to H, but after 2000 this is more than obvious.....I dare to say, that as far as in Maidenfans.com, H is the most popular member of Iron Maiden
I numarated my conclusions in axiom-like sentences to make it more easier for everybody
1) H is far more popular after 2000 (amongst the fans of Maiden) than he was before 1989
2) the cult of H really started in September 2003 with the song Paschendale
3) "accident of birth" and "chemical wedding" helped the fans of Maiden to appreciate more the qualities of H
4) the 10 wasted years (1989-1999) in general, made the fans of Maiden to realise the enormity of the loss -which after 2000/ 2003 did became a cult
5) before 2000 the term H didn't exist
