Warner Music will release IRON MAIDEN’s ‘The Book Of Souls: Live Chapter’ on November 17th worldwide [through BMG in the USA]. This live recording comprises 15 songs captured during ‘The Book Of Souls World Tour’, which covered 39 countries across six continents during 2016 and 2017, and was seen by over two million fans. ‘The Book Of Souls: Live Chapter’ will be released physically in CD, deluxe CD & vinyl audio formats, with the concert film available to stream free online or as a digital download – full details below.

Produced by Tony Newton and Iron Maiden founder member and bass player Steve Harris, the album is based on this year’s set list and is a faithful record of the epic show, including six songs from ‘The Book Of Souls’, the band's most recent studio album, along with many other classics and fan favourites.

Steve comments, "We spent a huge amount of time working on this as I wanted to get it as close to the Maiden live experience as I possibly could and to represent our fans from different parts of the world. This meant listening to literally hours upon hours of tapes from every show, to select material and construct a sound that would run consistently across the whole album and capture the excitement of a new country like El Salvador alongside such regular favourites as Donington or Wacken.”

Maiden manager Rod Smallwood adds, "’The Book Of Souls World Tour’ was a huge undertaking, not least for Bruce who started the tour singing in public for the very first time since recovering from throat cancer. He also piloted Ed Force One, upgraded last year from a Boeing 757 to a 747 so we could go further and faster to visit some fantastic cities and fans all round the world. This year continued that excitement bringing us our most successful North American and UK tours ever. It was a very special tour in a great many ways so we felt we wanted to document it for both ourselves and for our fans. Steve has done an incredible job putting together this set from cities around the world and we’ve made sure the deluxe CD will be available in a matching book format to ‘The Book of Souls’ release.

"On top of all that the release will be celebrated by an event that is a Maiden first: a free live streaming premiere of the concert film, as a thank you to our loyal fans around the world. We hope that the global Maiden community will all enjoy coming together to watch this special event online. Many of you will be in it as there is footage from a whole host of the places we played on this momentous tour. ”

More details on how to take part in this one-off event will be published on IronMaiden.com shortly.

    I certainly didn't expect that.

Hey @Black Wizard, they're including Book of Soils and Mud Brothers ;)

Just to be the lame internet troll who always complains: If they did a compilation from different gigs, obviously from both legs of the tour, why didn't they include Tears of a Clown?

Also... I guess we all have to wave bye-bye to Hallowed, thanks to one lawyer who thinks he's sticking up for the poor man.

Weird that they're not releasing the concert film physically. Only online or as a download.

I thought it was a shame Tears of a Clown wasn't included too. It was a powerful song live. I can understand the Hallowed fiasco better.

It's interesting that Shirley is not producing this. I'm curious how it turned out. (I only listened to Speed of Light on rubbish speakers, can't tell from that at the moment.) They could have chosen a better art for the cover. And I'm glad they didn't use Wacken for any of the setlist highlits, because we already have a decent recording of that show.

All in all - can't wait. And it's coming veeery soon, nice.

They should have included TOAC as a bonus track. But on the other side, we get Powerslave from Trieste, where I was on the barrier :D .

I was at Montreal! Also really curious that only two songs came from the second leg. Not sure if I'll get this or not right away.

    F*ckin get in!

I said on a recent thread it was a dream of mine to have a maiden gig I was at featured on an official release, so not only is there a home town gig from Dublin, but I was also at Donington!

Lol, I've just noticed close-ups on the mud in the booklet:

Also: all the footage on SOL is from 2016 (Davey doesn't use the white strat in any of the footage), which can point to the fact that the live album and video was partialy mixed before this year's tour. But they changed TOAC and HBTN, because of the lawsuit.

The footage looks like it was taken from at least 5 different shows. Davey plays his 70's strat when it had white humbuckers (until Prague), there are some shots with his California Series Strat (few SA shows) and the 70's Strat with zebras (after Prague). H also plays 2 different guitars (the prototype and the production model with JB).

A song like Powerslave could be a real strange one, because Davey went through 4 different guitars during the course of the tour, just in 2016 (LP Axcess, California Series Strat, 70's Strat and Vintage White American Floyd Rose Standard strat).

I hope that the version of SoL up there isn't the final mix but I'm guessing I'm going to end up disappointed. Not doing a DVD/Blu-ray release also seems a bit strange considering what a great visual experience the tour was but I suppose either it's coming later or then they're just skipping it because there's not enough money in it anymore.

Oh yeah and leaving out Tears on a live album composed of multiple shows feels like a really weird call, but whatever. I guess they wanted to sidestep the whole Hallowed issue by just replicating the 2017 set.

So supposing they do tour Europe next year, are they going to promote the live TBOS album by playing... TBOS songs?

This thing gets a vinyl release, but no DVD or Blu-Ray. We live in interesting times.

I'm really glad it's put together like this, instead of releasing a single show, so we can be sure that each song is a great performance.

I guess it's possible they could play 1-2 TBOS songs on the next tour. I really wouldn't be opposed to it. :)

I was really hoping for a formal release from the tour, mainly because I struggled so much with Book of Souls. The En Vivo versions of TFF songs really lifted that album for me. To bad they didn't add Tears of a Clown. Could have lived without Powerslave or The Trooper!

I thought Speed of Light track they released sounded OK.

But I'm massively disappointed they aren't doing a physical release for the video portion. I tend to watch live albums more than listen to them, so that being an online only/streaming thing is pretty puzzling. Especially since they are doing the physical product for the audio (including a book like they did with BOS which was cool but pretty useless).

Also totally selfishly bummed that I somehow managed to see 7 shows on this tour and none made it to this live album ha.

That being said - not a huge fan of live albums done in different places. For most bands it's ok, but Bruce is going to be asking like 5 different cities to scream for him on here (as with Flight 666) which just takes away from it feeling like a full concert. I really, REALLY hope they don't place gaps between the tracks like they did for F666 - not a fan of the fading out of each song. Live albums should attempt to convey a live show as best as possible even if they are from multiple shows.
