I check here every day to see if it has started yet!
I don't think so. Would there be enough takers? I'm interested.
DO IT! Tom Waits will certainly test some limits, but it's worth it.
Just to be properly understood - I know most of his discography by heart (as he's in my Top 6 of singer-songwriters, along with Dylan, Springsteen, (Van) Morrison, Cash and Simon - for obvious reasons I count both Gabriel and Bush separately) and I'd really like to participate, but I'm afraid my enthusiasm will fade away halfway through. As it did with all the other survivors. But let's try it!
I'd take part in a Gojira survivor but I don't think there would be enough to make it work.
Unless mods are against it, I'll start up a Tom Waits survivor in early/mid-November. Probably right around the time Sabaton Albums II ends.
Apart from Closing Time and Rain Dogs, this will be a noobvivor for me. Looking forward to it!
It'll be a whole lot of fun. I'm also gonna link to some Tom Waits podcasts along the way to help us all delve deeper if we want to.
I'd be down for Gojira. There's three already.
Not a huge fan of his. But i will give it a shot. Have a 12 hour flight tomorrow. I will give the first few albums another shot
@ Iced Earth:
I guess I'll do it... but I'd really prefer hosting something that's never been done before... like Satyricon, or even Enslaved. Something extreme, more precisely.
I also can't believe it's been more than 3,5 years since the last IE Survivor Time flies...
You'll get a lot more people voting and therefore more discussion in an Iced Earth survivor. Besides, they have a new album out so it's time.
Yeah, but I'd have more fun with Satyricon and Enslaved since I haven't heard all their albums.
Regarding Iced Earth, I've only heard their covers of Hallowed, The Trooper, and The Ripper, and Dante's Inferno. Which means I know almost nothing of their discography. That said, I'm interested in listening to their stuff to participate in this survivor so long as I have the time, so count me as interested.
'Setian Massacre' is their best song @Diesel 11
Iced Earth or Satyricon is great with me. IE might get more participants.
No way, it's Ghost of Freedom.
Neither of those songs deal with crying eagles and are therefore inferior.
All 3 are at least good songs. Hollow Man might be the worst Iced Earth song.
